4 Runners In Top 50 At Sectionals

EAST AURORA -- The Cross Country team competed in the Section VI Championship on Friday. Mikala Woock placed 13th, Shelby Dauphine 14th, Mirabelle Strong 31st, and Evangeline Harris was 43rd.

The following runners earned a personal best time: Shelby Dauphine, Maribelle Strong, and Evangeline Harris.

 

Cross Country Ends Season At Sectionals

November 1, 2024

EAST AURORA -- The Cross Country team competed in the Section VI Championship on Friday. The boys placed 4th, but were a mere 5 points out of 2nd place. Leading Barker in 9th place was Peyton Wagner. Luke Fay was 20th, Owen Harris 23rd, Logan Wagner 25th, Gabe Nestoros was 31st, Isaac Monaco 38th, Grayson Prynn was 42nd, and Daniel Goodwin was 53rd.

The following runners earned a personal best time: Peyton Wagner, Logan Wagner, and Grayson Prynn.

 

Woock Earns 1st Team At All-League

October 19, 2024

WATERPORT -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the All-League Meet at Lakeside Beach State Park. The Girls placed a close 4th with Mikala Woock taking 7th place and earned a spot on the Niagara-Orleans League 1st Team for the third time. Shelby Dauphinee placed 10th which was good for 2nd Team. Evangeline Harris was 27th, Mirabelle Strong 28th, and Rachel Samson finished in 34th.

 

Wagner & Nestoros Make N-O League 1st Team

October 19, 2024

WATERPORT -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the All-League Meet at Lakeside Beach State Park. The Boys finished the regular season as undefeated N-O League champs for the 11th time in Mr. DerSar's 24 years. Peyton Wagner led Barker in 2nd place overall. Gabe Nestoros placed 5th. Peyton and Gabe each claimed a spot on the All-League 1st Team. Owen Harris finished 10th and Logan Wagner was 12th. Their places earned them 2nd Team. Honorable Mention runners were Isaac Monaco in 17th, Grayson Prynn at 18th and Daniel Goodwin in 20th.

The Barker Boys had 7 of the 21 All-League individual honors.

 

Duchow & Mallon In Top 30 At Alden

October 12, 2024

ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the Alden Invitational. The Varsity Girls team was incomplete, with Shelby Dauphine placing 43rd and Evangeline Harris in 78th.

In the JV Girls race, Summer Duchow finished 26th and Megan Mallon was 30th.

 

Prynn, Prynn & Liuzzi Top 3 JV Boys At Alden

October 12, 2024

ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the Alden Invitational. The Varsity Boys placed 6th of 15 schools. Peyton Wagner led the way in 15th of 117 runners. Gabe Nestoros was 30th, Isaac Monaco 59th, Sabatino Ciraolo 65th, and Daniel Goodwin finished 92nd

The JV Boys were 4th of 6 schools with Grayson Prynn placing 16th, JJ Prynn 17th, and Sam Liuzzi crossing the finish line in 19th place.

Earning personal best times were: Peyton Wagner, Ciraolo, JJ Prynn, Carson Marvin, and Riley Marciszewski.

 

Bulldogs Undefeated In League Meets

October 8, 2024

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team competed against Akron and Roy-Hart. The boys defeated Roy-Hart 22-39 and notched a victory over Akron 24-35. Leading Barker and placing 3rd was Payton Wagner. Gabe Nestoros was 4th, Owen Harris 5th, Isaac Monaco 9th and Daniel Goodwin was 10th.

The boys will head into the All League meet with an undefeated record of 6-0.

Personal best times were run by Sabatino Ciraolo, JJ Prynn, and Carson Marvin.

 

Woock Finishes 4th on Senior Day

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team competed against Akron and Roy-Hart. The girls lost to both teams, as Roy-Hart narrowly edged them out by 1 point. Leading Barker was Mikala Woock in 4th place. Shelby Dauphinee was 7th, Mirabelle Strong 9th, Rachel Samson 14th, and Evangeline Harris was 16th.

The girls have a league record of 3-3.

 

Barker Places 5 In Top 10 At Albion

ALBION -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team travelled to Albion to take on the Purple Eagles and Medina Mustangs. The boys defeated Albion 18-45 and bested Medina 20-39. Leading Barker and winning the race was Luke Fay. Gabe Nestoros was 2nd, Owen Harris 5th, Logan Wagner 6th and Isaac Monaco was 9th. The boys league record is 4-0.

Oscar Dergal earned a personal best time.

 

Voss & Strong Earn Personal Best Times At Albion

October 1, 2024

ALBION -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Albion to take on the Purple Eagles and Medina Mustangs. The girls grabbed identical victories over Albion and Medina by scores of 15-50. Mikala Woock was 2nd overall. Shelby Dauphine was 3rd, Mirabelle Strong 5th, Rachel Samson 6th and Evangeline Harris was 8th. The girls league record is 3-1.

Olivia Voss and Strong earned a personal best time.

 

Dauphinee & Woock Break Top 50 At McQuaid

September 28, 2024

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the McQuaid Invitational.

The Varsity Girls placed 18th of 33 teams. Shelby Dauphine was 41st of 339 runners. Mikala Woock was 45th, Mirabelle Strong 129th, Rachel Samson 218th and Evangeline Harris was 255th.

3 runners ran turned in personal best times: Dauphinee, Strong and Samson.

 

7 JV Boys Earn Medals At McQuaid

September 28, 2024

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the McQuaid Invitational. The JV boys put on a show with 7 runners earning medals, placing 4th overall out of 21 teams. Matthew Jordan led the boys in 19th of 189 runners. Grayson Prynn was 27th, Lucas Nestoros 28th, Sabatino Ciraolo 33rd and Sam Liuzzi was 36th.

The Varsity Boys placed 14th of 56 schools. Luke Fay led the team placing 42nd out of 440 runners. Logan Wagner was 115th, Gabe Nestoros 122nd, Owen Harris 134th, and Peyton Wagner was 203rd.

13 boys had personal best times: Jordan, Matthew Meza Ray, Grayson Prynn, Lucas Nestoros, Ciraolo, Dominic Cimato, JJ Prynn, Oscar Dergal, Carson Marvin, Riley Marciszewski, Luke Fay, Logan Wagner, and Daniel Goodwin.

 

Woock & Dauphinee Finish 1-2 At Newfane

NEWFANE -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Newfane to take on the Panthers. The girls lost 36-25. Micala Woock placed 1st while Shelby Dauphine was 2nd, Mirabelle Strong 10th, Rachel Samson 11th and Evangeline Harris was 12th. The girls league record is 1-1.

Many Personal Best Times At Newfane

NEWFANE -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Newfane to take on the Panthers. The boys won handily, 25-33, by placing 11 runners before Newfane’s 5th runner. Leading Barker, in 2nd place, was Luke Fay. Gabe Nestoros was 4th, Owen Harris 5th, Logan Wagner 6th, and Peyton Wagner was 8th

The boys league record is 2-0 and are currently ranked as the #10 team in Class D for New York State.

Boys Cross Country Open Season With Victory At Wilson

WILSON -- On Tuesday, the Boys Cross Country team opened the regular season with a win at Wilson, 15-50. The team was led by Luke Fay in 1st, Peyton Wagner in 2nd, Gabe Nestoros in 3rd, Logan Wagner in 4th and Owen Harris in 6th

The following had a personal best time: Grayson Prynn, Sabatino Ciraolo, Dominic Cimato, JJ Prynn, Oscar Dergel and Carson Marvin.

 

Woock Wins First Race Of Season

WILSON -- On Tuesday, the Girls Cross Country team opened the regular season with a win at Wilson, 15-50.

Mikala Woock won the race and was followed by Shelby Dauphine in 3rd, Mirabelle Strong in 5th, Rachel Samson in 6th and Evangeline Harris in 8th

Shelby Dauphinee had a personal best time.

 

Dauphinee In Top 100 At Queensbury

September 14, 2024

QUEENSBURY -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled 5 hours east to run in the Queensbury invitational. The girls team ran hard with Mikala Woock placing 51st out of 223 runners. Shelby Dauphinee was 92nd, Mirabelle Strong 135th, Rachel Samson 186th and Evangeline Harris was 197th.

The team will travel to Wilson tomorrow to open the N-O League regular season.

 

Fay Paces Bulldogs At Queensbury Invitational

September 14, 2024

QUEENSBURY -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled 5 hours east to run in the Queensbury invitational. The boys placed 10th of 30 schools. Leading Barker in 45th out of 260 runners was Luke Fay. Peyton Wagner placed 50th, taking 17 seconds off his personal best time. Gabe Nestoros took 56 seconds off his personal best time and placed 81st. Logan Wagner had a personal best time by 43 seconds, in 86th place. Owen Harris was 99th, Isaac Monaco was 159th and Matthew Jordan was 168th

In the JV Boys race, Lucas Nestoros was 48th of 162 runners. Sam Liuzzi was 73rd, Grayson Prynn 79th, Sabatino Ciraolo 80th and Mathew Mesa Ray 87th.

The following had personal best times: Lucas Nestoros, Grayson Prynn, Ciraolo, JJ Prynn, Oscar Dergal, and Carson Marvin.

The team will travel to Wilson tomorrow to open the N-O League regular season.

 

Girls Finish 8th At East Aurora

EAST AURORA -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team started it's season off with an invitational in East Aurora at Knox farms. The girls team placed 8th out of 14 schools with Shelby Dauphinee placing 18th and Micala Woock 19th out of 119 runners. Rachel Samson was 79th, Evangeline Harris 93rd and Olivia Voss was 112th

Voss turned in a personal best time.

 

Prynn Takes 4th At East Aurora

September 7, 2024

EAST AURORA -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team started it's season off with an invitational in East Aurora at Knox farms. The boys placed 4th out of 17 schools. Leading Barker, out of 143 runners, was Peyton Wagner in 13th.  Luke Fay was 15th, Logan Wagner 41st, Gabe Nestoros 43rd, Owen Harris 50th, Matthew Jordan 69th, and Daniel Goodwin was 62nd

The JV boys placed 2nd. Out of 49 runners, Grayson Prynn was 4th, Lucas Nestoros 6th, JJ Prynn 9th, Sabatino Cirialo 12th and Carson Marvin was 31st.  

Personal best time were run by Logan Wagner, Gabe Nestoros, Jordan, Grayson Prynn, JJ Prynn, Ciraolo, Carson Marvin and Lucas Nestoros.

 

Evans Headed Back To State Meet For Second Time

November 3, 2023

BEMUS POINT -- Friday, the Cross Country team competed in the Section VI Class D Championship at Bemus Point. The girls team placed 4th with Emma Evans placing 5th overall and qualified to run in the New York State meet on Saturday, November 11th in Verona. This is her second time qualifying for States. Mikala Woock placed 8th, Shelby Dauphinee 25th, Evangeline Harris 45th and ran a personal best time, Rachel Samson 54th, and Lillia Peace finished 58th.

 

Fay Leads Way As Boys Finish 4th In Sectional Meet

BEMUS POINT -- Friday, the Cross Country team competed in the Section VI Class D Championship at Bemus Point. The Boys team ran well placing 4th, close behind the 3rd place team.

Leading Barker in 11th overall and running a personal best time was Luke Fay. Albert Cimato was 23rd and also ran a personal best time. Owen Harris was 25th, Sam Liuzzi 30th with a personal best time, Isaac Monaco 39th and registered a personal best time, Peyton Wagner 42nd, Gabe Nestoros 51st and Daniel Goodwin finished in 52nd

 

5 Boys Earn All-League Recognition

October 21, 2023

WATERPORT -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team competed at the Niagara-Orleans League All-League meet. The boys had a hard-fought race and placed 2nd overall. Luke Fay and Peyton Wagner qualified for 1st team honors. Fay placed 4th and Wagner was 5th. Albert Cimato and Owen Harris both earned 2nd team all-league, placing 12th and 14th, respectively. Isaac Monaco was 19th and picked up honorable mention recognition.

The boys finished the N-O League regular season with a record of 10-2 and captured 2nd place.  

Earning personal best times were Sam Liuzzi and Riley Marciszewski.



3 Girls Earn N-O League Honors

October 21, 2023

WATERPORT -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team competed at the Niagara-Orleans League All-League meet. The girls placed 3rd overall with Emma Evans and Mikala Woock making 1st team. This is the first time in over 20 years for Barker to have two girls win 1st team honors in the same season. Evans was 5th and Woock was 7th.  Shelby Dauphinee placed 20th to earn honorable mention.  

The girls finished the league season in 2nd place overall in the N-O League.  

Earning personal best times were Meghan Mallon and Evangeline Harris.

 

Evans & Woock Go 1-2 At Akron

October 11, 2023

AKRON -- Wednesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Akron to run against the host and Roy-Hart. The girls won 26-29 over both teams to improve their league record to 5-1. Emma Evans was the overall winner. Mikala Woock was 2nd and Shelby Dauphinee placed 5th. Dauphinee earned a personal best time.

 

Boys Take Split At Akron

October 11, 2023

AKRON -- Wednesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Akron to run against the host and Roy-Hart. The boys defeated RoyHart 18-43 and lost to Akron 26-29. Luke Fay was the overall winner.  Payton Wagner placed 4th, and Albert Cimato was 6th. The boys record is now 5-1.  

Earning personal best times were: Matthew Meza Ray, Dominic Cimato, and Riley Marciszewski.

 

Barker Girls Grab 2 Wins At Medina

October 3, 2023

MEDINA -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Medina to run against the Mustangs and the Albion Purple Eagles. The girls' were victorious over Medina 23-35 and Albion 25-30. Winning the race was Mikala Woock. Emma Evans was 2nd, Shelby Dauphinee 7th, and Maribelle Strong 10th.

The girls are now with 3-1 in the Niagara-Orleans League.

 

Barker Boys Sweep Meet At Medina

MEDINA -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team traveled to Medina to run against the Mustangs and the Albion Purple Eagles. The boys won handily 16-37 over Albion and 16-45 over Medina. Barker took the first four places with Luke Fay, the overall winner. Albert Cimato was 2nd, Peyton Wagner 3rd, Owen Harris 4th, and Sam Liuzzi 7th.

The boys are undefeated with 4 wins in N-O League competition.

 

Liuzzi Top Finisher For JV At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to the famous McQuaid Invitational. The Varsity Boys took 17th of 56 teams. Leading Barker out of 463 runners was Luke Fay in 55th. Peyton Wagner was 124th, Albert Cimato 134th, Owen Harris 138th, and Isaac Monaco was 200th

The JV boys placed 12th of 45 schools. Leading Barker was Sam Liuzzi in 35th out of 145 runners. Lucas Kimber was 55th and Andreas Nestoros was 82nd

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Cross Country competed at home on senior night against Newfane. The boys team won 26-29 With Luke Fay leading Barker in 2nd overall. Peyton Wagner was 3rd, Owen Harris 5th, Albert Cimato 6th and Gabe Nestoros was 10th. The boys are now undefeated at 2-0 in the league.

Leading Barker was Mikala Woock in 14th place of 111 runners. Shelby Dauphinee was 39th. Mirabelle Strong was 70th, Rachel Samson was 80th, and Evangeline Harris was 81st.

There were 4 runners who earned personal best times: Melodi Murphy, Dauphinee, Rachel Samson, and Harris.

 

Boys Take 7th At Queensbury

QUEENSBURY -- On Saturday, the the Cross Country team competed in a meet 6 hours away in Queensbury, New York. The Varsity Boys placed 7th of 15 schools. Out of 126 runners, Luke Fay was 21st. Peyton Wagner 32nd, Owen Harris 43rd, Albert Cimato 45th, and Isaac Monaco was 67th

The JV Boys placed 7th of 10 schools with Sam Liuzzi leading the way in 30th of 107 runners and Lucas Kimber was 41st.

There were 6 runners who earned personal best times: Liuzzi, Kimber, Dominic Cimato, Wagner, Harris, and Albert Cimato.

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team opened up the Niagara-Orleans League slate by hosting Wilson. The girls team was victorious, 33-24. Mikala Woock was the race winner. Shelby Dauphinee was 2nd, Mirabelle Strong 6th, Rachel Samson 7th, Evangeline Harris 8th, and Lillia Peace 9th.

Strong Finishes In Top 100 At VVS Invitational 

September 16, 2023

VERONA -- Saturday, the Cross Country team travelled to Verona, NY to run in the VVS (Vernon Verona Sherrill) Invitational. Emma Evans placed 37th, Mikala Woock was 57th, Shelby Dauphinee 74th, Mirabelle Strong 97th, and Evangeline Harris was 110th. 145 runners competed in the race.

The team will compete at home against Wilson on Tuesday at 4:45 PM.

 

Fay Is Top Barker Boy At VVS Invitational

September 16, 2023

VERONA -- Saturday, the Cross Country team travelled to Verona, NY to run in the VVS (Vernon Verona Sherrill) Invitational. In the boys race, Luke Fay was 47th, Peyton Wagner 81st, Albert Cimato 87th, Owen Harris 106th, and Isaac Monaco was 115th. 191 runners competed in the race.

The team will compete at home against Wilson on Tuesday at 4:45 PM.

 

Girls Cross Country Team Begins Season At Red Dragon Invitational

BEMUS POINT -- Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled 2.5 hours to Bemus Point to run in an invitational. The girls' team placed 7th out of 10 teams. Emma Evans was 4th, Mikala Woock 19th, Shelby Dauphinee 34th, Mirabelle Strong 55th, Evangeline Harris 77th, Lillian Peace 83rd, Summer Duchow 95th, and Melodi Murphy was 97th. 

The following runners had personal best times: Dauphinee, Strong, Harris, and Murphy.

 

Boys Cross Country Competes In Red Dragon Invitational

BEMUS POINT -- Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled 2.5 hours to Bemus Point to run in an invitational. The boys' team placed 7th out of 12 teams. Leading the boys in 21st place was Luke Fay. Albert Cimato was 35th, Peyton Wagner 38th, Owen Harris 45th,  Isaac Monaco 52nd, Daniel Goodwin 70th, and Lucas Kimber was 73rd.

Allee Castro & Evans Represent Barker At State Meet

November 12, 2022

VERONA -- Saturday, the Cross Country team was well represented in Verona, NY by Mason Allee Castro and Emma Evans. Allee Castro placed 21st missing the All State team by one place. Evans placed 27th. Both races had over 100 runners.

 

Allee Castro To Compete In 4th NYSPHSAA Championship Meet 

November 4, 2022

ALDEN -- On Friday, the Cross Country team ran in the sectional meet at Alden High School. The boys placed 2nd overall and are runner up sectional champions. Mason Allee Castro placed 3rd overall and qualified for the New York State Meet at Verona. Luke Fay placed 11th, Dawson Donovan was 15th, Noah Sandolfini 17th, and Albert Cimato crossed the finish line in 27th.

Allee Castro will now compete in his 4th New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championship Meet.

Evans Headed to NYSPHSAA Meet

November 4, 2022

ALDEN -- On Friday, the Cross Country team ran sectionals at Alden High School. The girls' team placed 3rd with Emma Evans placing 2nd overall and qualifying for the state meet next weekend. Lydia Samson placed 15th, and Mikala Woock was 16th.

Evans will travel to Verona to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championship Meet. Evans earned a personal best time at the sectional meet.

 

Girls Cross Country Closes Out League Schedule At 8-4

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the girls Cross Country team placed 3rd at the Niagara-Orleans League All League meet to finish the league campaign with a respectable 8-4 record.

Emma Evans placed 3rd and made the 1st team. Mikala Woock was 9th, and Lydia Samson 10th as both received 2nd Team recognition.

 

Boys Cross Country Team Wins League Title & Sportsmanship Award 

October 22, 2022

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Boys Cross Country team was crowned champions of the Niagara-Orleans League.  The team scored 32 points, half of the score of the next team. The team dominated the race and Mason Allee-Castro was the overall winner. Luke Fay placed 3rd and Dawson Donovan was 4th. All 3 boys were 1st Team All League.

The 2nd Team consisted of Noah Sandolfini in 10th and Aidan Voss 14th. Honorable Mention went to Albert Cimato in 15th, Brad Cantrell 16th, and Isaac Monaco in 19th.

The boys also received the League Sportsmanship Award.

 

5 Best Times Recorded At Alden Invitational

ALDEN -- Saturday, the Cross Country team travelled to Alden to run in an invitational. The Varsity Girls placed 16th of 22 schools. Emma Evans placed 19th, Mikala Woock 52nd, and Lydia Samson 55th.

5 of the girls had personal best times: Summer Duchow, Evans, Meghan Mallon, Lillia Peace, and Evangeline Harris.

 

Allee Castro & Monaco Finish In Top 10 At Alden Invitational 

October 15, 2022

ALDEN -- Saturday, the Cross Country team travelled to Alden to run in an invitational. The Varsity Boys placed 8th of 28 schools with Mason Allee Castro placing 9th out of over 180 runners. Dawson Donovan was 41st, Luke Fay 52nd, Noah Sandolfini 54th, Brad Cantrell 82nd, Owen Harris 92nd, and Aiden Voss 93rd.

The JV boys placed 3rd out of 12 schools. Isaac Monaco led Barker in 8th place. Albert Cimato 9th, and JP Mason was 17th. The next three came in together in virtually a 3-way tie. Michael Kalynycz, Sam Liuzzi, and Gabe Nestoros placed 38th, 39th, and 40th.

10 of the boys had personal best times: Fay, Monaco, Cimato, Nestoros, Liuzzi, Mason, Cam Hefferon, Matthew Meza Ray, Ben Harrod, and Daniel Meza Ray.

 

Girls Sweep Albion & Wilson To Improve to 3-1

WILSON -- The Cross Country team ran against Albion and Wilson on Wednesday night. The girls had 2 wins to improve their record to 3-1. The girls defeated Albion 23-34 and edged Wilson 27-30. Leading Barker was Emma Evans. Lydia Samson was 4th, Mikala Woock 5th, Rachel Samson 12th, and Evangeline Harris 13th

There were 3 personal best times: Evans, Harris, Meghan Mallon, and Summer Duchow.

 

11 Personal Best Times At Wilson For Boys Cross Country

WILSON -- The Cross Country team ran against Albion and Wilson on Wednesday night. The boys picked up a 15-50 win over Albion, and defeated Wilson 20-38. Mason Allee Castro placed 1st, Noah Sandolfini was 3rd, Dawson Donovan 4th, Luke Fay 5th, and Aiden Voss 7th.

There were 11 personal best times: Allee Castro, Sandolfini, Fay, Albert Cimato, Isaac Monaco, Gabe Nestoros, James Mason, Cameron Jefferson, Sam Liuzzi, Daniel Goodwin, and Matthew Meza Ray.


Barker Places 3 In Top 100 At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed at the McQuaid Invitational. The Varsity girls placed 18th of 36 teams. Out of 355 runners, Emma Evans was 29th, Mikala Woock placed 77th, and Lydia Samson 96th.

Barker had 4 runners who ran personal best times: Emma Evans, Rachel Samson, Evangeline Harris, and Lillia Peace.

 

Cimato Paces JV Boys At McQuaid Invitational

October 1, 2022

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed at the McQuaid Invitational. The JV boys were impressive with a 6th place finish out of 20 schools. Out of 192 runners, Albert Cimato was 19th, Isaac Monaco 24th, and James Mason 33rd.

The Varsity boys had a tough race with many state ranked teams to run against. They placed 10th of 52 teams. Mason Allee Castro placed 18th of 355 runners. Luke Fay was 68th, Noah Sandolfini 98th, Dawson Donovan 104th, and Owen Harris 126th.

8 runners had personal best times: Albert Cimato, Isaac Monaco, James Mason, Mason Allee Castro, Luke Fay, Noah Sandolfini, Aiden Voss, and Owen Harris.


Girls Take Top 3 Spots Against Medina

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Barker harriers had their opening home meet. The girls won 23-32 with Emma Evans taking 1st. Mikala Woock was 2nd, Lydia Samson was 3rd, Rachel Samson was 7th, and Evangeline Harris was 10th.

Barker Grabs Top 6 Spots In Race Against Medina

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Barker harriers had their opening home meet. The boys won handily over Medina 15-49 with Mason Allee Castro placing 1st. Noah Sandolfini was 2nd, Dawson Donovan was 3rd, Brad Cantrell was 4th, Aidan Voss was 5th and Owen Harris was 6th.

Raiders Take 2nd at West Seneca

September 17, 2022

WEST SENECA -- Saturday the Cross Country team travelled to West Seneca to run at Sunshine Park. The Varsity Boys placed 2nd with Mason Allee-Castro taking 2nd by less than a second. There  were 54 runners in the race. Dawson Donovan was 9th, Noah Sandolfini 10th, Luke Fay 14th, Owen Harris 16th, Aiden Voss 22nd, and Luis Castro 28th.

In one JV race, Isaac Monaco was 15th and Michael Kalynycz was 16th. In another JV race, Albert Cimato placed 13th, JP Mason 25th, and Levi Hauser 25th.

The following runners recorded personal best times: Daniel Goodwin, Daniel Meza Ray, Sam Liuzzi, Albert Cimatto, Cameron Hefferon, Mason Allee-Castro, Noah Sandolfini, and Luke Fay.

The next race will be on the BCS nature trails for the only home meet of the year, against Medina.

 

Evans Takes 3rd at West Seneca

WEST SENECA -- Saturday the Cross Country team travelled to West Seneca to run at Sunshine Park. The girls team was incomplete, but had a great showing with Emma Evans placing 3rd of 41 runners. Mikala Woock was 6th, and Lydia Samson was 7th.

The next race will be on the BCS nature trails for the only home meet of the year, against Medina.

VERONA -- The Cross Country team travelled to Verona to compete in the pre-state meet invitational at VVS High School. The Varsity Boys did well placing 5th of 14 schools. Out of 156 runners, Mason Allee Castro was 3rd, Luke Fay 25th, Noah Sandolfini 34th, Owen Harris 36th Dawson Donovan 43rd, Brad Cantrell 46th, and Aiden Voss 55th.

Barker Runners Show Significant Improvement On State Meet Course

November 13, 2021

CHENANGO VALLEY -- Last Saturday, Mikala Woock and Mason Allee-Castro represented Section VI in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association State Meet held at Chenango Falls near Binghamton. Woock placed 35th out of 108 runners and ran more than 30 seconds faster than she did on the same course earlier in the season. Allee-Castro placed 45th out of 116 runners and ran 45 seconds faster than he did on the same course earlier this season.

Congratulation to the entire team for an amazing and complete season. How Sweet it was.

 

Allee-Castro & Woock Heading To States

November 5, 2021

EAST AURORA -- Both Barker Cross Country teams placed 3rd at sectionals after some tough mud running exciting performances. Leading the boys team placing 4th overall was Mason Allee-Castro. He ran his fastest time of the season. It will be the third time Allee-Castro will represent Section VI at the New York State Meet. Nate Hess placed 15th while Aiden Voss was 20th. Voss ran his fastest time of the season. Dawson Donovan was 21st, Owen Harris 23rd, Brad Cantrell 30th, and Michael Kalynycz was 45th. Harris also ran a personal best time.

Leading the girls team placing 4th overall and now heading to her first state meet is Mikala Woock. She had a personal best time that was 30+ seconds better than her other races. Lydia Samson came off the injured reserve list and placed 19th. Emma Evans placed 22nd, Kaitlyn Goodwin was 26th, Shelby Dauphinee 27th, Rachel Samson 36th, and Lillia Peace was 42nd. Evans, Goodwin, and Rachel Samson all ran personal best times.

 

Woock & Allee-Castro Are First Team All Leaguers

October 23, 2021

WATERPORT -- Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the Niagara-Orleans All-League meet at Lakeside Beach State Park. The girls team avenged a loss to Wilson and placed 3rd overall. Their final record was 7 wins and 5 losses. Over Mr. DerSar's 21 years of coaching Cross Country at Barker, there has only been two girls who made First Team. Mikala Woock is now the third. Woock placed 6th overall. Emma Evans had an awesome race and placed 17th to receive Honorable Mention recognition. Shelby Dauphinee was 22nd, narrowly missing Honorable Mention. Kaitlyn Goodwin wsa 25th, Rachel Samson 45th, Lillia Peace 51st, Summer Duchow 55th, and Meghan Mallon was 57th.

The boys team placed 2nd and ended the regular season with a record of 10 wins and 2 losses. Mason Allee-Castro placed 3rd and made 1st Team All League. Dawson Donovan missed 1st Team by one spot, and claimed 2nd Team honors by placing 8th. Nate Hess was 13th and Aidan Voss 14th as both qualified for 2nd Team. Noah Sandolfini finished 21st to earn Honorable Mention. Owen Harris was 25th, Jackson Hauser 32nd, Isaac Monaco 35th, Michael Kalynycz 36th, and Brad Cantrell was 37th.    

Megan Mallon and Levi Hauser both had personal best times.

 

Cross Country Grabs 3 of 4 Races At Akron

October 15, 2021

AKRON -- With the sun setting and the rain coming down, the Cross Country teams competed against host Akron and Albion on Friday. The Varsity Girls came away with a victory over Albion by a score of 23-37. The girls also suffered a loss to Akron with a score of 35-22. Finishing in the top 10 were Mikala Woock 2nd, Emma Evans 4th, and Shelby Dauphinee 10th. Evans, Rachel Samson, Lillia Peace and Summer Duchow all finished with personal best performances.

It became electric as the boys took home two wins after a shortened race due to thunderstorms. The team defeated Akron 20-41 and Albion 19-44. Barker dominated with the following runners finishing in the top 10: Mason Allee Castro 2nd, Nate Hess 4th, Dawson Donovan 5th, Brad Cantrell 6th, Noah Sandolfini 7th, and Aidan Voss 8th.

The boys are 5-1 and the girls 3-3 heading into the All-League meet this Saturday, October 23rd at Lakeside Beach State Park. The meet begins at 10:00 AM. Both teams seek to avenge losses from earlier in the season. The boys especially hope to grab victory over Newfane to become co-champions.

 

Kalynycz Leads Barker JV Boys At Alden

October 9, 2021

ALDEN -- Saturday, the Cross Country team competed at the Alden invitational. The JV Boys placed 12th of 23 teams with Michael Kalyncz placing 59th out of 207 runners. Isaac Monaco was 90th, Cam Kiner 105th, Andreas Nestoria 119th, and JP Mason was 135th.

The Varsity Girls had a good showing with 5 personal best times led by Mikala Woock placing 24th of 121 runners. Emma Evans was 62nd, Shelby Dauphinee was 69th, Kaitlyn Goodwin was 79th, and Rachel Samson was 113th. 

The Varsity Boys placed 7th of 16 teams with Mason Allee-Castro finishing 25th of 136 runners. Nate Hess was 38rh, Brad Cantrell 58th, Noah Sandolfini 79th and Aiden Voss was 71st.

The following 11 runners had personal best times: Kalynycz, Monaco, Nestoros, Albert Cimato, Ben Harrod, Cantrell, Woock, Evans, Dauphinee, Samson, and Peace.

BARKER -- Wednesday the Cross Country team hosted Wilson. The girls team lost a close one 26-29. Leading all runners was Mikala Woock. Shelby Dauphinee was 3rd, Emma Evans 7th, Kaitlyn Goodwin 8th, and Rachel Samson 10th.

The boys won handily 17-45 Mason Allee-Castro won the race with Nate Hess 2nd, Dawson Donovan 3rd, Brad Cantrell 5th, Aidan Voss 6th, and Noah Sandolfini was 7th.

ROCHESTER -- Saturday, the Cross Country team ran at the McQuaid Invitational in Rochester. The girls team placed 22nd of 29 teams. Out of 263 runners, Mikala Woock was 35th, Shelby Dauphinee was 127th, Kaitlyn Goodwin 149th, Emma Evans 167nd, and Rachel Samson was 221st.

The following had personal best times: Woock, Dauphinee, Goodwin, Evans, and Samson.

The team will compete at home against Wilson on Wednesday, October 6th.

ROCHESTER -- Saturday, the Cross Country team ran at the McQuaid Invitational in Rochester. The JV boys placed 3rd of 12 teams. Out of 145 runners, Owen Harris was 14th, Michael Kalynycz was 22nd, Cam Kiner 39th, Isaac Monaco was 57th, and Levi Hauser was 58th.

The Varsity Boys placed 10th of 43 teams. Out of 352 runners, Mason Allee Castro was 41st, Nate Hess 55th, Dawson Donovan 69th, Noah Sandolfini 115th, and Brad Cantrell was 120th.

The following had personal best times: Hess, Sandolfini, Cantrell, Harris, Kalynycz, Monaco, Nestoros, Cam Hefferon, and Ben Harrod .

The team will compete at home against Wilson on Wednesday, October 6th.

 

Woock Grabs 5th Against Newfane

September 21, 2021

BARKER -- Tuesday the Cross Country team suffered some losses to Newfane. The boys lost by 3 points in a tight race. Mason Allee-Castro in 3rd, Nate Hess in 4th, Dawson Donovan in 5th, Aidan Voss 8th, Brad Cantrell 9th, and Noah Sandolfini was 12th.

The girls lost, but stopped the state powerhouse Newfane team from getting a perfect 15 as Mikala Woock broke up the Panthers squad to claim 5th overall. Lydia Samson was 8th, Shelby Dauphinee 14th, Kaitlyn Goodwin 15th, and Emma Evans was 16th. 

The following earned personal best times: Woock, Dauphinee, Evans, Peace, Sandolfini, Michael Kalynycz, Albert Cimato, and Hess.

 

Boys Take 5th & Girls Grab 7th At Chenango Valley

CHENANGO VALLEY -- Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Chenango Valley to run in the pre-state meet invitational. The boys team placed 5th of 12 teams with Mason Allee Castro placing 14th of 105 runners. Nate Hess was 28th, Noah Sandolfini 36th, Aiden Voss 53rd, and Brad Cantrell was 61st.

The girls placed 7th of 8 teams with Mikala Woock placing 18th of 84 runners. Lydia Samson was 28th, Emma Evans 41st, Kaitlyn Goodwin 47th, and Shelby Dauphinee was 50th.

Personal best times  were achieved by Woock, Evans, Lillia Peace, Summer Duchow, Andreas Nestoria, Ben Harris, and Albert Cimato. 

The running Raiders will host Newfane on Tuesday, September 21st.

 

Cross Country Season Begins With First Invitational In Two Years 

September 11, 2021

EAST AURORA -- Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Knox farms in East Aurora to compete in an invitational. This was the first invitational in 2 years.

The Varsity Boys team placed 7th of 20 teams. Leading the way in 12th place out of 151 runners was Mason Allee-Castro. Dawson Donovan was 41st, Nate Hess 46th, Owen Harris 60th, Jackson Hauser 61st, Noah Sandolfini 65th, Aidan Voss 90th, and Isaac Monaco 114th.  Harris, Hauser, Sandolfini, and Monaco ran their first Varsity race and did very well.

The JV boys ran very well and placed first with 5 out of the top 13 places. Levi Hauser was 5th, Cam Kiner 9th, Michael Kalynycz 10th, JP Mason 11th, and Andreas Nestoros 13th. Albert Cimato placed 20th, Cam Hefferon 26th, and Ben Harrod 31st.

The Varsity girls ran well and placed 11th of 16 teams. Out of 136 runners, Mikala Woock placed 26th taking a whole minute off her personal best time. Lydia Samson was 49th, Kaitlyn Goodwin 82nd, Shelby Dauphinee in her first race was 99th, and Rachel Samson was 127th. 

The JV girls had four amazing competitors who ran their first 5k and all completed the race. Emma Evans was 26th, Lillia Peace 58th, Summer Duchow 62nd, and Megan Mallon 63rd. 

The following had personal best times: Harris, Jackson Hauser, Sandolfini, Monaco, Levi Hauser, Kalynycz, Nestoros, Cimato, Harrod, Woock, Dauphinee, Evans, Peace, Duchow, and Mallon.

The team travels to Binghamton to compete in the pre-state meet invitational next weekend.

 

Boys Win Section VI Class D Championship

November 15, 2020

BEMUS POINT -- The Barker Boys Cross Country team won the Section VI Class D Championship on Sunday. It marked the 10th time in the last 20 years the earned the title. The Raiders placed first by 6 points over Clymer/Sherman/Panama. Robert Mason led the way for Barker with an 8th place finish. Dawson Donovan placed 10th, Logan Harris 13th, Mason Allee-Castro was 17th, Evan Taylor 21st, Aidan Voss 23rd, and Brad Cantrell finished 26th. There were 48 total runners in the Class D race.

In the girl’s race, Barker placed an impressive 3rd with Carla Stoloski leading the team in 11th. Mikala Woock placed 19th, Lydia Samson 21st, Elinore Voss 25th, Kaitlyn Goodwin 26th, and Rachel Samson was 35th.

Unfortunately for the boys and Stoloski, there is no state meet this year and therefore the season is now complete. The boys team would have went to states by winning the sectional title and Stoloski also qualified for the state meet as an individual.

 

8 Barker Runners Earn Recognition At Niagara-Orleans League All League Meet

October 31, 2020

BARKER -- Saturday, the Cross Country team ran all league at Barker. The boys placed 3rd overall with Mason Allee-Castro placing 8th and Dawson Donovan placing 14th. Both earned 2nd team all-league honors.

Bobby Mason placed 16th, Evan Taylor 18th, and Logan Harris 20th. All three earned honorable mention all-league honors. Aidan Voss placed 23rd and Brad Cantrell placed 27th.

The girls placed 5th with Carla Stoloski earning 2nd team all-league honors in 11th place. Mikayla Woock placed 16th and Lydia Samson placed 18th. Both made honorable mention all-league.

Elinore Voss placed 26th, Kaitlyn Goodwin was 29th, and Rachel Samson 41st.

The following runners had person best times: Stoloski, Wook, Mason, Taylor, Allee-Castro, Aidan Voss, Harris, and Donovan.

 

Jowdy Takes Fifth At JV All League Meet

BARKER -- Tuesday, the JV Cross Country runners concluded their season by running in the Niagara-Orleans League All League Meet. All runners ran more than 30 seconds faster than their previous run on the Barker home course. Thomas Jowdy placed 5th, Luis Castro 7th, Cameron Hefferon 11th, and Andreas Nestoros was 13th. Castro, Hefferon, and Nestoros all posted a personal best time. 

 

Stoloski Takes #1 At Medina

MEDINA -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country teams traveled to Medina to run against the Mustangs and the Roy-Hart Rams. The girls turned out a terrific race and took the top four places to win handily against both teams 17-38. The girls team is now 3-2 in the league. Placing 1st overall was Carla Stoloski. 2nd was Lydia Samson, 3rd Mikayla Woock, 4th Ellie Voss, and 9th was Rachel Samson who ran her first Varsity race. 

The boys had a split decision winning against Roy-Hart by a 19-41 margin and losing (for the first time in 20 years) to Medina 33-22. The boys ran a tough race with Mason Allee-Castro placing 4th, Bobby Mason 7th, Evan Taylor 8th, Dawson Donovan 9th, and Logan Harris 10th. The boys are currently 3-2 in the league.

 

Boys Take Two; Girls Take Split

BARKER -- Tuesday, on senior night, the Cross Country team hosted Albion and Akron.

The girls had a split decision beating Albion by 1 point 28-27 and while losing to Akron 37-20.

Leading Barker was Carla Stoloski placing 6th. Lydia Samson was 7th, Mikayla Woock 9th, Ellie Voss 13th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin 14th.

The boys had two wins: 20-41 over Akron and 25-36 to defeat Albion. Placing 4th overall was Mason Allee-Castro.  Evan Taylor was 5th, Dawson Donovan 6th, Bobby Mason 7th, Logan Harris 8th, Aiden Voss 10th, and Brad Cantrell 11th.

9 runners had personal best times: Allee-Castro, Aiden Voss, Zach Hill, Luie Castro, Cam Hefferon, Andreas Nestoros, Andy Hill, Stoloski, and Woock. 

 

DiLorenzo Selected As Sportsmanship Award Winner At State Championships

November 16, 2019

PLATTSBURGH - Saturday, Peter DiLorenzo and Mason Allee-Castro represented Barker and Section VI at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's state meet in Plattsburgh.

In fridged weather and frozen ground, DiLorenzo placed 21st in 16:06 just missing All-State by just one place. Allee-Castro placed 51st with a time of 17:05 and was the 3rd fastest freshman in the race. DiLorenzo was named the sportsmanship award winner for Class D in Section VI.

 

Barker Sends 2 Runners To State Meet

November 8, 2019

EAST AURORA -- Friday the Cross Country team competed in sectionals at Knox farm in East Aurora. The girls placed 3rd with Haleigh Mason taking 13th, while Lydia Samson was 17th, Carla Stoloski 24th, Ellie Voss 25th, Ariana Peace 28th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 29th.

The boys placed 2nd and are Runner Up Section VI Class D Champions. Leading Barker in 3rd place and qualifying for the state meet was Peter DiLorenzo.  Placing 9th and also qualifying for the state meet was Mason Allee-Castro.  Bobby Mason just missed the state meet by 2.4 seconds placing 11th. Nick Guevara was 15th, Evan Taylor was 17th, Dawson Donovan 18th, and Logan Harris was 21st. DiLorenzo and Allee-Castro will travel to Plattsburgh for the State Meet. They will race on Saturday, November 16th.  

 

DiLorenzo Makes N-O League 1st Team For Third Straight Season 

October 26, 2019

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team capped off the regular season at the Niagara-Orleans League All League Meet at Lakeside Beach State Park. The girls placed 3rd overall to finish the regular season with a record of 8-4. Lydia Samson led Barker placing 12th overall followed by Haleigh Mason in 13th. Both made 2nd Team All League. Placing 19th and earning Honorable Mention recognition was Elinore Voss. Ariana Peace placed 23rd, Carla Stoloski was 25th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin finished 42nd.

The boys placed 2nd and finished the league season with a 10-2 campaign. Peter DiLorenzo raced to a 1st Team All League finish for the 3rd year in a row by placing 4th overall. Nick Guevara placed 14th to make 2nd team. Earning Honorable Mention were Mason Allee-Castro who placed 18th and Dawson Donovan who was 20th. Robert Mason placed 23rd, Logan Harris 32nd, and Evan Taylor was 33rd.

8 runners had personal best times on a course that is difficult to make personal best times: Guevara, Jake Cirillo, Camren Szafranski, JP Mason, Alex White, Levi Hauser, Cameron Hefferon and Voss.

 

Boys & Girls Pick Up 2 League Wins

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team hosted Medina and RoyHart. The girls won against both schools raising their league record to 4-2. Leading Barker in 2nd overall was Haleigh Mason. Lydia Samsom was 3rd, Ellie Voss 5th, Carla Stoloski 7th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 10th.

The boys also won against both schools improving their league record to 5-1. Leading Barker in 2nd over all was Peter DiLorenzo.  Dawson Donovan was 6th, Mason Allee-Castro 7th, Evan Taylor 9th, Nick Guevara 10th, Nate Hess 12th, and Bobby Mason was 13th.

There were 16 personal best times: DiLorenzo, Donovan, Allee-Castro, Bobby Mason, Taylor, Hess, Brad Cantrell, Alex Jenks, Thomas Jowdy, Tyler Cirillo, Jacob Cirillo, Cameren Szafranski, Jon Pestinger, Haleigh Mason, Goodwin, and Aidan Pearson.

 

DiLorenzo Takes 1st Overall At Albion

ALBION -- Tuesday the Cross Country team traveled to Albion to run against the Purple Eagles and Akron Tigers.

The boys defeated both schools by margins of 17-44 over Albion and 21-38 over Akron. This brings their record to 3-1 loss in the league. Leading all runners was Peter DiLorenzo placing 1st overall. Nick Guevara was 3rd, Mason Allee-Castro 4th, Dawson Donovan 6th, Evan Taylor 9th, Bobby Mason 11th, and Luca Spagnolo was 12th.

The girls split their decisions with a 20-36 win over Albion and a loss to Akron by a score of 23-33. The girls record in the league is now 2-2. Leading Barker was Haleigh Mason in 3rd place. Lydia Samson was 4th, Ariana Peace 9th, Carla Stoloski 10th, Ellie Voss 12th and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 21st.

The following runners had personal best times:  Bobby Mason, Nate Hess, Jacob Cirillo, JP Mason, and Levi Hauser.

 

Cross Country Teams Perform Very Well At Pembroke Invitational

PEMBROKE -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Pembroke to run in their invitational.

The JV Boys did well and placed 3rd out of 8 teams, losing to only very large schools. Leading Barker was Logan Harris in 9th out of 95 runners. Alex Jenks was 12th, Nate Hess 16th, Bobby Mason 18th, and Aidan Voss was 21st.

The Varsity Girls placed 3rd led by Haleigh Mason in 11th out of 96 runners. Lydia Samson was 17th, Ariana Peace 35th, Carla Stoloski 38th, Ellie Voss 40th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 73rd.  

The Varsity Boys placed 2nd led by Peter DiLorenzo placing 9th out of 92 runners. Nick Guevara was 30th, Mason Allee-Castro 31st, Dawson Donovan 40th, and Evan Taylor was 44th.

The following runners had a personal best time: Jenks, Aidan Voss, Jowdy, Cam Szafranski, Cam Kiner, Levi Hauser, Aidan Pearson, and Goodwin. The running Raiders travel to Albion on Tuesday to run against Albion and Akron.

 

Varsity Girls Finish 4th At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday the running Raiders traveled to Rochester to run at the McQuaid invitational. The Varsity Girls placed 4th of 20 teams with Haleigh Mason placing 18th of 224 runners. Lydia Samson was 27th, Carla Stoloski 72nd, Ellie Voss 77th, Arianna Peace 84th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 195th.

The JV Boys placed 6th of 27 teams. Out of 331 runners, Logan Harris was 29th, Nate Hess 30th, Robert Mason 37th, Brad Cantrell 53rd, and Alex Jenks was 68th.

The Varsity Boys placed 6th of 45 schools. Out of 345 runners, Peter DiLorenzo placed 12th. Mason Alee-Castro was 55th with Nick Guevara 57th. Dawson Donovan was 58th, Evan Taylor 96th, Luca Spagnolo 126th, and Steven Class was 129th.

There were 20 personal best times at McQuaid for the Barker runners. On Tuesday the team will be home against Newfane.

 

DiLorenzo Is Top Barker Runner At Wilson

WILSON -- Tuesday the Cross Country team opened league competition with the boys and girls victorious over Wilson. The girls won 26-29. Haleigh Mason placed 1st, Lydia Samson 2nd, Carla Stoloski 6th, Ariana Peace 8th, Ellie Voss 9th, and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 11th.

The boys won 27-30. Ian DiLorenzo was 2nd, Nick Guevara 4th, Dawson Donovan 6th, Mason Allee-Castro 7th, Evan Taylor 8th, Luca Spagnolo 10th, and Steven Class was 11th.

 

Mason Leads Way For Varsity Girls At Plattsburgh

September 21, 2019

PLATTSBURGH -- Last Saturday, the Cross Country team went to Plattsburgh for their annual road trip. The Varsity Boys placed 11th of 17 teams. Peter DiLorenzo was 23rd of 129 runners. Mason Allee-Castro finished 68th, Dawson Donovan 72nd, Evan Taylor 79th, Nick Guevara 89th, Nate Hess 105th.

The Varsity Girls placed 12th of 14 teams. Haleigh Mason was 44th of 117 runners. Lydia Samson was 52nd, Carla Stoloski 78th, Elinore Voss 94th, Ariana Peace 95th, Kaitlyn Goodwin 109th.

The JV Boys placed 5th of 17 teams. Luca Spagnolo was 21st of 171 runners, while Steven Class was 25th, Jacob Cirillo 29th, Brad Cantrell, 35th, Aiden Voss was 37th.

The following 9 runners had a personal best: Spagnolo, Cantrell, JP Mason, Levi Hauser, Goodwin, Allee-Castro, Donovan, Taylor, and Logan Harris. The running Raiders travel to Wilson on Tuesday to kick off league competition.

 

Harris Leads JV Boys At Knox Farms Invitational

September 14, 2019

EAST AURORA -- Saturday, the Cross Country team had their first race in East Aurora at the Knox Farms Invitational.

The JV Boys did very well by placing 3rd out of 17 teams. Barker's top runners were Logan Harris in 8th, Nate Hess finished 17th, Jacob Cirillo was close behind in 19th, Bobby Mason was next in 25th, Alex Jenks was 27th, Aidan Voss crossed the line in 34th, and Tyler Cirillo closed out the Barker contingent in 37th. 179 runners competed in the race.

The Varsity Boys placed 10th out of 27 schools. Out of 231 runners, Peter Dilorenzo placed 24th, Mason Allee-Castro was 59th, Nick Guevara 76th, Dawson Donovan 79th, and Evan Taylor finished in 87th.

The girls placed 20th out of 26 teams and were led by Haleigh Mason in 38th out of 210 runners. Lydia Samson was 84th, Carla Stoloski 116th, Ariana Peace 141st, Ellie Voss 152nd, and Kaitlyn Goodwin was 168th.

DiLorenzo Cracks Top 20 At State Meet

KINGS PARK -- On Saturday, Peter DiLorenzo traveled to Sunken Meadow Park on Long Island to compete in the NYSPHSAA Cross Country State Meet. Out of 118 runners, DiLorenzo placed 19th with a time of 17:52.  By placing in the top 20 he was recognized as a member of the All-State Team.

 

DiLorenzo Headed To States; Ingro Leads Girls

November 2, 2018

BEMUS POINT -- On Friday, the Cross Country team traveled 2.5 hours to Bemus Point to compete in sectionals. The girls’ team placed 3rd with Lucy Ingro leading the way for Barker in 12th place. Gabby Baker was 14th, Haleigh Mason was 18th, Lydia Samson was 21st, Elinore Voss was 22nd, Serena Harris was 26th, and Carla Stoloski was 30th.

The boys’ team placed 2nd and are Section VI Class D Runner-up Champions. The boys team was led by Peter DiLorenzo placing 7th overall and qualifying for the New York State meet next weekend. Peter will travel to Long Island to compete in the NYSPHSAA State Meet.

Dominic Clementi was 13th, Steven Class placed 17th, Zach Richbart was 20th, Nick Guevara was 21st, AJ Schafer was 23rd, and Danny Ober was 31st.

 

1 On 1st Team, 2 On 2nd Team And 3 On Honorable Mention At All League Meet

October 27, 2018

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the Niagara-Orleans League Championship Meet. Both girls and boys team placed 3rd to finish the regular season with records of 8 wins and 4 losses.

Tearing it up and placing 14th overall for the girls team was Lucy Ingro who made All League 2nd Team. Lydia Samson received Honorable Mention by finishing 16th as did Haleigh Mason in 17th, and Gabby Baker in 18th. Serena Harris placed 22nd just missing honorable mention. Elinore Voss was 29th, Ariana Peace was 36th, and Carla Stoloski was 39th.

For the boys team, Ian DiLorenzo placed 3rd overall making 1st Team. Dom Clementi placed 9th to make 2nd Team. Nick Guevara placed 23rd, Steven Class was 26th, Andrew Schafer 28th, Daniel Over 31st, Evan Taylor 36th, Bobby Mason 38th, and Zachary Richbart was 41st.

Running personal best times were Mason, Andy Callaghan, Alex Jenks, Thomas Jowdy, Zach Lawson, Ingro, Camren Szafranski, and Alyssa Thompson.

 

 

4 Victories For Cross Country; Next Up All League Meet 

October 16, 2018

BARKER -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team ended its regular season by adding 4 victories. The girls won by a score of 22-35 against Roy-Hart and defeated Medina 15-46. Leading Barker was Lydia Samson, placing 2nd overall. Haleigh Mason was 3rd, Gabby Baker 4th, Serena Harris 6th, Lucy Ingro 7th, Ellie Voss 12th, and Carla Stoloski was 13th. The girls have a record of 4-2 in the Niagara-Orleans League with their eye on avenging the loss to Akron.

The boys won also won both 2 as they finished with a 25-33 decision over Roy-Hart and had a 15-48 victory over Medina. Leading Barker and placing 1st overall was Ian DiLorenzo. Nick Guevara was 4th, Dom Clementi 5th, Steven Class 7th, AJ Schafer 8th, Evan Taylor 10th and Danny Ober was 12th. The boys now have a record of 4-2 in the league and have their eyes on a different outcome against Wilson.

There were 14 personal best times for the Raiders: Guevara, Class, Taylor, Logan Harris, Zach Lawson, Camren Szafranski, Noah Bowerman, Cole Ecker, Samson, Ingro, Voss, Stoloski, Ariana Peace, and Alyssa Thompson.

 

Class Finished In Top 10 vs. Wilson

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Boys Cross Country team lost to Wilson 23-32. Ian DiLorenzo placed 2nd, Dom Clementi 5th, Nick Guevara 6th, Steven Class 9th, and AJ Schafer was 10th.

The Girls Cross Country won 41-16 with Barker taking the top 4 places. Gabby Baker was 1st, Lydia Samson 2nd, Haleigh Mason 3rd, Serena Harris 4th, and Lucy Ingro was 6th.

The following 5 runners had personal best times: Class, Evan Taylor, Zach Lawson, Xander DerSarkissian, and Joey Brandt.

 

Ingro Has Personal Best Pace At Newfane

NEWFANE -- Tuesday, the Cross Country teams suffered a loss at Newfane. Leading the boys’ team and placing 2nd overall was Ian DiLorenzo. Dom Clementi was 9th, Nick Guevara 13th, Steven Class 15th, and Zach Richbart was 16th.

The girls team was led by Gabby Baker placing 6th. Haleigh Mason was 8th, Lydia Samson 9th, Lucy Ingro 13th, and Serena Harris was 15th. Ingro had a personal best pace.

 

Led By Baker, Girls Grab 3rd At McQuaid Invitational

September 29, 2018

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Rochester to run in the McQuaid Invitational held at Genesee Valley Park. The girls stole the show by placing 3rd out of 23 schools and winning a plaque. Leading Barker and placing 25th out of 265 girls was Gabby Baker. Haleigh Mason was 28th, Lydia Samson 29th, Serena Harris 56th, and Lucy Ingro was 67th.

The JV boys placed 7th against 40 other schools with Steven Class leading Barker in 16th. Class was one of 391 runners. Evan Taylor was 28th, AJ Schafer 50th, Jaret Black 60th, and Tyler Cirillo was 96th.

The Varsity Boys placed 8th out of 48 schools with Ian DiLorenzo leading the Raiders in 15th place. There were 364 runners in the Varsity Boys race.  Dom Clementi was 75th, Nick Guevara 84th, Danny Ober 115th, and Zach Richbart was 116th.

24 runners had personal best times for Barker. On Tuesday, the running Raiders travel to Newfane to compete against the Panthers.

Boys Win 2 While Girls Take Split In League Opening Meet

September 25, 2018

AKRON -- On Tuesday the Varsity Cross Country team opened up the regular season at Akron with a meet against the host Tigers and the Albion Purple Eagles. The girls defeated Albion 31-25 and lost to 25-30 to Akron. Leading Barker in 5th place overall was Gabby Baker. Haleigh Mason was 7th, Lydia Samson 8th, Serena Harris 9th and Lucy Ingro 11th.

The boys picked up two victories beating Akron 36-21 and Albion 15-50.  Ian DiLorenzo won the race. Placing 4th was Nick Guevara, while Dom Clementi was 5th, Dan Ober 7th, and Steven Class was 8th.

There were 15 personal best times: Guevara, Class, Logan Harris, Evan Taylor, Michael Dalton, Cody Wagner, Camren Szafranski, Cole Ecker, Mason, Samson, Ingro, Ellie Voss, Carla Stoloski, Ariana Peace, and Alyssa Thompson. 

 

Callaghan & Peace Top Barker Runners In JV Race At Bowdoin Park

POUGHKEEPSIE -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled alomst 6 hours to Poughkeepsie, NY to compete in an invitational at Bowdoin Park. Out of 186 runners, Ian DiLorenzo placed 53rd to lead Barker in the Varsity Boys race. Out of 247 runners, Andrew Callaghan placed 116th to lead Barker in the JV Boys race. Out of 146 runners, Gabby Baker placed 55th to lead Barker in the Varsity Girls race. Out of 83 runners, Ariana Peace placed 57th to lead Barker in the JV girls race.

Lucy Ingro and Camren Szafranski both had personal best times.

On Tuesday, September 25th the team will open its regular season at Akron with a meet against the host Tigers and the Albion Purple Eagles.  

 

Both Varsity Teams Grab 5th Place At West Seneca Invitational

September 15, 2018

WEST SENECA -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to West Seneca for an invitational. The Varsity Girls and Boys both placed 4th while running in very hot conditions. Leading the Boys’ team was Ian Dilorenzo placing 5th overall. Dom Clementi was 23rd, Zach Richbart 30th, Nick Guevara was, and Logan Harris was 34th.

Leading the Girls’ team was Gabby Baker in 9th overall. Lydia Samson was 13th, Haleigh Mason 22nd, Serena Harris 31st, and Lucy Ingro was 40th.

In the JV races, Steven Class led Barker in the freshmen/sophomore race in 29th by running a personal best time. Danny Ober led the JV junior/senior race in 22nd. Jessica Haseley led Barker in 25th for the junior/senior JV race. Ariana Peace was 36th in the JV freshmen/sophomore race.

Cross Country Team Opens Season with Long Trek to Southern Tier

BEMUS POINT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team opened up its season running at the Red Dragon invitational in Bemus Point. The JV Girls placed 9th of 11 schools. There were 122 runners in the division. Jessica Haseley led the team in 35th. Ariana Peace was 48th, and Kathryn Donner was 70th.

The JV Boys placed an impressive 6th out of 20 schools. Their division included large schools. Leading Barker in 28th out of 215 runners was Jaret Black. Zach Richbart was 34th, Alex Jenks 43rd, Evan Taylor 48th, and Bobby Mason was 67th.

The Varsity Girls placed 7th out of 19 schools. Leading Barker was Gabby Baker placing 22nd of 139. Lydia Samson was 42nd, Haleigh Mason 47th, Serena Harris 51st, and Lucy Ingro was 72nd.

The Varsity Boys placed 14th of 20 teams. Ian Dilorenzo led Barker in 30th place out of 160 runners. Nick Guevara was 63rd, Dom Clementi 74th, Andy Callaghan 90th, and Logan Harris was 94th.

The following 16 runners earned a personal best time: Peace, Donner, Alyssa Thompson, Black, Evan Taylor, Joey Brandt, Camren Szafranski, Xander DerSarkissian, Cole Ecker, Samson, Haleigh Mason, Ingro, Carla Stoloski, Guevara, Callaghan, and Steven Class.  

Cross Country Season Ends With 2 Top 10 Finishes At Sectionals

BEMUS POINT -- On Friday, the Cross Country team travelled to Bemus Point to compete in sectionals. The boys placed 3rd in the Class D race. Ian Dilorenzo placed 9th overall. DiLorenzo missed advancing to the state meet by 1 place. Andrew Jenks was 13th, Aidan O'Shea 15th, Dom Clementi 17th, Adam Wagner 18th, Adam Woodworth 25th, and Dan Ober was 27th.

The girls placed 5th with Gabby Baker running lights out to finish in 10th. Serena Harris was 14th, Ellie Voss 33rd, Chloe Goodlander 36th, Jessica Haseley 38th, and Bridget Moeller was 39th.

7 runners had personal best times: DiLorenzo, O'Shea, Clementi, Ober, Baker, Harris and Voss.

 

Baker & DiLorenzo Finish As First Teamers At All League Meet

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Lakeside Beach State Park run in the Niagara-Orleans All League Meet.

The girls avenged 2 regular season losses by grabbing wins over both Medina and Wilson. Gabby Baker made 1st Team All League by placing 6th overall. This is just the 3rd time a girl has been 1st Team while Mr. DerSarkissian has been coach.

In her first Cross Country season, Serena Harris placed 12th overall to make 2nd Team. Elinore Voss placed 34th, Chloe Goodlander 48th, Rebecca Pisarski 49th, Jessica Haseley 54th, and Bridget Moeller was 57th. The girls finished the season with 2 wins and 10 losses.

The boys ran very well with Ian DiLorenzo placing 3rd overall and making 1st Team in his first season. Making 2nd Team were Drew Jenks in 9th, Aidan O'Shea 13th, and Dom Clementi placed 14th. Adam Wagner placed 17th and received Honorable Mention recognition. The boys suffered just 1 loss and closed out the league season with a record of 10-2 losses. The 10-year league record for the boys team is 132 wins and only 4 losses.

Out of 54 runners on Saturday, 34 runners avenged regular season losses, while 7 people finished in their projected spots, based on the regular season. Tyler Cirillo avenged 26 regular season losses.

The following 7 runners earned personal best times: Voss, Haseley, Dan Ober, Nick Guevara, Andy Callaghan, Logan Harris, and Cirillo.

 

Varsity Boys Sweep Meet Versus Roy-Hart & Medina

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team hosted Medina and Roy-Hart. The girls lost to both teams by a small margin. Gabby Baker placed 2nd overall, Serena Harris was 4th, Ellie Voss placed 11th. The boys came away with 2 wins to up their league record to 5-1. The boys defeated Medina 28-31 and Roy-Hart 19-43. Placing 2nd overall was Peter DiLorenzo. Drew Jenks was 6th, Adam Wagner 7th, Dom Clementi 8th, Adam Woodworth 9th, Aidan O'Shea 10th, and Zach Richbart was 12th.

The following 14 runners earned a personal best time: DiLorenzo, Clementi, Nick Guevara, Bobby Mason, Logan Harris, Ethan Greenwald, Ryan Stevener, Zach Lawson, Christian Young, Noah Bowerman, Jon Misuti, Voss, Bridget Moeller, and Rachel Haseley.

 

Ober Wins JV Race At Tully Invitational

TULLY -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Section III to compete at the Tully Invitational located south of Syracuse. The JV Boys placed first taking 15 of the top 20 places. Dan Ober was 1st, Austin Sullivan 2nd, Joey Baronich 3rd, Nick Guevara 4th, and Andy Callaghan was 6th.

The Varsity Girls placed 4th. Gabby Baker was 5th, Serena Harris 7th, Elinore Voss 25th, Rebecca Pisarski 42nd, and Chloe Goodland was 43rd.

The Varsity Boys placed 3rd but only 7 points separated the top 3 teams. Ian DiLorenzo placed 3rd overall. Drew Jenks was 9th, Aidan O'Shea 14th, Adam Wagner 17th and Adam Woodworth was 23rd.

Personal best times were achieved by: Harris, Voss, Bridget Moeller, Ober, Sullivan, Alex Jenks, Max Meister, Keith Robison, Tyler Cirillo, Zach Lawson, Jon Pestinger, and Christian Young.

The last home meet is on Tuesday, October 17th and is Senior Recognition. The first race is at 4:45.

 

Jenks Finishes In 3rd At Albion

ALBION -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team traveled to Albion to run against the Purple Eagles and the Akron Tigers. The girls team lost to both schools, but were led by Gabby Baker placing 3rd overall while Serena Harris placed 5th.

The boys won 21-40 over Akron and 16-47 over Albion. Leading Barker and placing 1st overall was Peter DiLorenzo. Drew Jenks placed 3rd, Adam Woodworth 4th, Aidan O'Shea 6th, Zach Richbart 8th, Adam Wagner 9th, and Dan Ober was 10th. Ryan Stevener had a personal best time.

  

Harris Grabs Second Barker Spot Against Newfane

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team hosted the Newfane Panthers. Both the boys and girls teams suffered losses, but many runners had personal best times. Leading the boys team and shattering his previous best time was Peter DiLorenzo in 3rd place overall. Adam Woodworth was 7th, Drew Jenks 9th, Aidan O'Shea 11th, Adam Wagner 12th, Zach Richbart 14th, and Anthony Leising was 16th.

Leading the girls’ team in 6th place was Gabby Baker followed by Serena Harris in 7th place. Ellie Voss was 12th, Chloe Goodlander 13th, Jessica Haseley 15th, and Becca Pisarski was 17th.

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team ran at the McQuaid Invitational in Rochester. The Varsity girls placed 12th of 30 schools. Out of 305 runners, Gabby Baker placed 14th, Serena Harris was 26th, Ellie Voss was 143rd, Chloe Goodlander was 196th, and Jessica Haseley was 204th.

The JV boys placed an impressive 2nd of 35 schools. Leading Barker was Anthony Leising who was 9th of 377 runners. Austin Sullivan was 11th, Zach Richbart was 14th, Logan Harris was 30th, and Joey Baronich was 31st.

The Varsity boys finished in 6th place in a race with 44 schools. Leading Barker in 59th place out of 346 runners was Peter DiLorenzo. Andrew Jenks was 62nd, Aidan O'shea 69th, Adam Woodworth 71st, Adam Wagner 80th, Dan Ober 130th, and Dom Clementi was 157th.

There were 25 personal best times: Leising, Sullivan, Richbart, Logan Harris, Joey Baronich, Nick Guerara, Andy Callaghan, Alex Jenks, Luca Spagnolo, Ethan Greenwald, Keith Robison, Thomas Jowdy, Tyler Cirillo, Michael Dalton, Ryan Stevener, Zach Lawson, Noah Bowerman, Jon Musitu Heras, DiLorenzo, Woodworth, Danny Ober, Christian Young, Baker, Harris, and Voss.

The running Raiders will race against the Newfane Panthers at home on Tuesday. The first race is at 4:45 PM.

 

 Cross Country Splits At Wilson

September 26, 2017

WILSON -- Tuesday the Cross Country team opened up league competition at Wilson. The boys won a very close meet 27-31. Leading Barker, in 2nd place overall, was Ian DiLorenzo. Aidan O'Shea was 4th, Adam Woodworth 6th, Adam Wagner 7th, Drew Jenks 8th, Dom Clementi 9th, and Danny Ober was 11th.

The girls lost a close one 31-25. Gabby Baker led all runners and placed 1st. Serena Harris was 2nd, Chloe Goodlander 8th, Jessica Haseley 9th, and Becca Pisarski was 11th.

The following had personal best times: Ober, Nick Guevara, Andy Callaghan, Thomas Jowdy, Keith Robison, Michael Dalton, Tyler Cirillo, Noah Bowerman, Rachel Haseley, and Jon Musitu.

 

DiLorenzo Top Runner For Barker At Wayne Invitational

ONTARIO -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Wayne Central School to run in the Wayne Invitational which serves as a prestate meet.

The JV Boys placed an impressive 3rd of 20 schools with Danny Ober leading Barker in 12th place out of 169 runners. Anthony Leising was 14th, Austin Sullivan 17th, Joey Baronich 19th and Logan Harris was 24th.

The Varsity Girls placed 6th of 16 teams. Leading Barker was Gabby Baker in 25th of 132 runners. Serena Harris in 26th, Ellie Voss 57th, Chloe Goodland 83rd, Jessica Haseley 90th and Rebecca Pisarski was 91st.

The Varsity Boys placed 7th of 25 teams. Leading the way for Barker was Peter DiLorenzo in 27th of 178 runners. Aidan O'Shea was 52nd, Adam Woodworth 58th, Adam Wagner 61st, Dom Clementi 62nd, Drew Jenks 66th and Zack Richbart was 72nd.

Bridget Moeller, Andy Callaghan, and Ober all had personal best times.

Baker In Top 25 At Red Dragon Invitational

BEMUS POINT -- The Cross Country team opened the season on Saturday at the Red Dragon Invitational, 2.5 hours away in Bemis Point. The Varsity Boys placed 7th of 19 schools with Peter DiLorenzo placing 28th of 155 runners. Aidan O'Shea placed 39th, Dom Clementi was 40th, Drew Jenks 44th, Adam Woodworth 50th, Zach Richbart 53rd, and Adam Wagner was 54th.

The Varsity Girls were led by Gabby Baker placing 23rd out of 107 runners. Serena Harris placed 32nd, and Ellie Voss placed 84th.

The JV Boys ran against all schools including large schools and placed 6th of 23 schools. They only lost to very large class A schools. Leading Barker in 19th of 240 runners was Anthony Leising. Austin Sullivan was 21st, Logan Harris 41st, Robert Mason 57th, Dan Ober 60th, Alex Jenks 70th, and Nick Guevara was 73rd.

Season & Career Ending Race For Hopkins & Arnold

CHENANGO FORKS -- On Saturday, Jack Hopkins and Jake Arnold competed in the NYSPHSAA State Cross Country meet in Chenango Forks at the Chenango Valley State Park, near Binghamton. Hopkins placed 41st of 120 in 17:40. Arnold was 43rd in 17:44. Both of the boys had a great race and ended their Cross Country career on a great note.

GRAND ISLAND -- On Friday, the Cross Country team traveled to Beaver Island to run at the Section VI meet meet. The girls turned in a good performance with a 6th place finish. Leading Barker in 14th was Gabby Baker. Jessica Haseley was 31st, Tiarah Culverwell 33rd, Ani Carestia 36th, Ellie Voss 40th, Rebecca Pisarski 43rd, and Natalie Regling was 50th.
 
The boys placed 2nd in Class D. Leading Barker and heading to his first New York State Public High School Athletic Association State Meet was Jack Hopkins in 7th place. Placing 11th and heading to his second State Meet was Jake Arnold. Andrew Jenks was 14th, Matt Pestinger 17th, Adam Wagner 20th, Adam Woodworth 23rd, and Nick Sutch was 27th.
 
Arnold and Hopkins will compete on Saturday, November 12 in Section IV at Chenango Valley, near Binghamton.
 
There were 6 personal best times: Hopkins, Arnold, Sutch, Voss, Culverwell and Pisarski.
 
 
Boys Cross Country Wins N-O League With Undefeated Record

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Lakeside Beach State Park to compete in the Niagara-Orleans League meet. The boys successfully completed an undefeated season, winning their 4th consecutive championship. This was their 8th league title in 9 years. Making 1st Team All-League was Jake Arnold, placing 4th, and Jack Hopkins who was 5th. Runners who were 2nd Team were: Adam Wagner in 9th, Andrew Jenks in 10th, and Matthew Pestinger in 12th. Honorable Mention was Brent Bachman in 20th.
 
The girls team ran well with Gabby Baker placing 12th which placed her on 2nd Team.
 
The following runners had personal best times at All-League: Nick Sutch, Dominic Clementi, Ryan Harris, Max Meister, Ethan Greenwald, Christian Young and Ellie Voss.

ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Alden to run in the Alden Invitational. The Varsity Boys had a strong showing, placing 4th of 17 schools. Leading Barker and placing 10th out of 120 runners was Jake Arnold. Bent Bachman was 28th, Jack Hopkins 30th, Drew Jenks 38th, Matt Pestinger 46th, Adam Wagner 46th, and Aidan O'Shea was 59th.
 
The JV Boys had a great performance placing 2nd of 10 teams. Leading Barker out of 121 runners was Adam Woodworth in 6th, AJ Schafer 8th, Nick Sutch 9th, Austin Sullivan 12th, Zach Cogar 14th, Joshuwa Weakland 18th, and Joe Baronich was 24th.
 
The JV girls’ team was led by Natalie Regling placing 110th of 207 runners. Sabrina Harris placed 119th and Alexis Greene placed 120th. The Varsity Girls were led by Gabby Baker in 23rd of 108 runners. Jessica Haseley was 48th, Ani Carestia 79th, Tiarah Culverwell 81st, and Ellie Voss was 82nd.

Jenks Is First Raider To Cross Finish Line 
October 11, 2016
MEDINA -- Tuesday afternoon the Cross Country team traveled to Medina to run against the Mustangs and the Wilson Lakemen. The boys ran very well to secure a solid 24-34 win over previously unbeaten Wilson. Barker also brought home a 22-39 victory to remain undefeated in the league with a perfect 6-0 record. Leading the way for the Raiders and in 3rd place overall was Drew Jenks who was followed closely by Brent Bachman in 5th. Jake Arnold was 6th, Adam Wagner 8th, and Matt Pestinger was 9th. Jack Hopkins returned to racing and was 10th. Adam Woodworth finished in 14th. The top 6 were separated by just 37 seconds.
 
The Girls earned a split decision with a 26-31 decision over Wilson, while losing to Medina, 26-31. Leading Barker was Gabby Baker, in 3rd overall. Jessica Haseley was 4th, Ani Carestia 10th, Ellie Voss 12th, Tiarah Culverwell 13th, Chloe Goodlander 14th, and Rebecca Pisarski was 16th.

ROYALTON -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team traveled to the Royalton Ravine to run against Newfane and host school Roy-Hart. The boys came away with 2 victories: a 23-34 win over Newfane and a 15-48 win over Roy-Hart. The boys have a record of 4-0 in the league. Leading all runners from the 3 schools was Jake Arnold with a time of 18:31. Andrew Jenks was 3rd, Adam Wagner 5th, Brent Bachman 6th, Matt Pestinger 8th, Aidan O'Shea 11th, AJ Schafer 12th, and Adam Woodworth was 13th.
 
The girls gave it their best, even though there were some nagging injuries. Gabby Baker placed 10th, and Jessica Haseley placed 11th.
 
Earning personal best times were Ryan Harris, Andrew Callaghan, Zach Lawson, Christian Young, and Bridget Moeller.

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Rochester to run in the McQuaid Invitational. The Varsity Boys ran in the upper level seeded race and placed 12th of 20 teams. Out of 166 elite runners, Jake Arnold was Barker's top finisher in 55th. Brent Bachman was 63rd, Matt Pestinger 77th, Adam Wagner 92nd, Aidan O'Shea 100th, Drew Jenks 111th, and Adam Woodworth was 121st.
 
The JV boys had a great showing placing 3rd of 33 schools. Out of 288 runners, AJ Schafer was a very impressive 3rd. Josh Weakland was 15th, Nick Sutch 19th, Zach Richbart 22nd, Joe Baronich 39th, Zach Cogar 41st, and Austin Sullivan was 43rd.
 
The girls team placed 15th of 30 teams. Out of 299 runners, Gabby Baker placed 39th, Jessica Haseley 55th, Ani Carestia 147th, Ellie Voss 162, Tiarah Culverwell 200th, Becca Pisarski 209th, and Chloe Goodlander was 228th.

Wagner Finishes 4th In Race With Albion & Akron

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team opened the Niagara-Orleans League schedule with home meets against Albion and Akron. The boys handily defeated Albion 17-46 and Akron 21-38. Leading the way for Barker was Jake Arnold in 2nd place. Brent Bachman was 3rd, Adam Wagner 4th, Matt Pestinger 6th, and Drew Jenks was 8th.
 
The girls lost to both Albion and Akron, but put up a good run. Gabby Baker placed first overall. Jessica Haseley was 5th, Anie Carestia 17th, Tiarah Culverwell 20th, and Rebecca Pisarski was 22nd.

Baker Leads Way For Girls Cross Country At Pre-State Meet Invitational

CHENANGO FORKS -- The Cross Country team traveled 3 hours to Section IV to run at the Pre-State Meet Invitational. The Varsity boys placed 8th of 15 schools. Leading Barker was Jake Arnold in 20th place. The race was comprised of 225 runners. Arnold was closely followed by Brent Bachman in 25th. Matt Pestinger was 43rd, Adam Wagner 48th, Aidan O'Shea 64th, Drew Jenks 66th, and AJ Schafer was 68th to round out the top 7.
 
The JV Boys placed 2nd out of 12 schools and were led by Adam Woodworth, Josh Weakland, Zach Richbart, Nick Sutch, and Joe Baronich.
 
Gabby Baker led the way for the Varsity Girls as she finished the race in 60th place out of 165 runners. Jessica Haseley was 69th, Anie Carestia 110th, Tiarah Culverwell 126th, and Becca Pisarski was 134th to round out the top 5.
 
9 runners earned personal best times: Max Meister, Ryan Harris, Ethan Greenwald, Kyle Moeller, Danny Bator, Christian Young, Jonathan Pestinger, Culverwell and Carestia. The team will host their only home meet of the season on Tuesday, September 27th on the nature course trails. Senior recognition is at 4:00 PM and the first race is at 4:30 PM. 
 
 
Boys Cross Country Captures Wayne Invitational 
September 17, 2016
EAST AURORA/ONTARIO CENTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country teams had their season debut. The girls traveled to East Aurora and ran in a monsoon while the boys traveled east of Rochester for the Wayne invitational. During the girls' race it started to thunder and lightning, so the race was stopped. Only Gabby Baker and Jessica Haseley had finished. Baker placed 24th, Haseley was 37th. There was no team score since the race was not completed.
 
The boys traveled into Section V territory and won the small schools race by 1 point over Oakfield-Alabama. Barker was 1 of 22 schools who competed in the race. It was a very dramatic race as Barker's #5, #6, and #7 runners moved up to help capture the win. Leading the way for Barker was Brent Bachman who placed 5th out of 162 runners. Jake Arnold was 13th, Matt Pestinger 24th, Drew Jenks 25th, Adam Woodworth 34th, Aidan O'Shea 42nd and Adam Wagner was 43rd. Wagner, O'Shea and Woodworth were keys to securing the victory.
 
The boys JV team placed 3rd out of 14 schools. Only 2 much larger schools were able to finish ahead of Barker. Josh Weakland was Barker's first finisher as he placed 5th our of 138 runners. Joe Baronich was 10th, AJ Schafer 11th, Nick Sutch 14th, Zach Richbart 17th, Austin Sullivan 19th, and Bobby Mason was 32nd to round out the top 7.

CENTRAL VALLEY -- On Saturday Jake Arnold represented Barker Cross Country and Section VI in the NYSPHSAA state meet at Monroe-Woodbury High School. Arnold ran a great race and placed 34th out of 120 competitors with a time of 18:06.

WEST SENECA -- On Friday, the Cross Country team traveled to Sunshine Park in West Seneca to run at the sectional meet. A huge congratulations goes out to the boy’s team for their second place finish in class D and also to Jake Arnold for qualifying for the state meet. Arnold will travel to Monroe-Woodbury High School in section IX this weekend to compete with the best in New York State.  Jack Hopkins ran a great race but fell just shy of qualifying for the state meet in 8th place. Matt Pestinger was 14th, Adam Wagner 15th, Mike Snell 17th, Drew Jenks 20th, and Brent Bachman was 21st.
 
The girl’s team placed 5th with Gabby Baker falling just shy of qualifying for the state meet in 11th place. Jessica Haseley was 16th, Emma Jenks 20th, Alaina Israel 28th, Sabrina Harris 32nd, Natalie Regling 35th, and Ellie Voss was 37th.    
 
 
Boys Cross Country Claims N-O League Title

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Lakeside Beach State Park to compete in the Niagara-Orleans League Championships. The boys team remained undefeated and won the title for the 7th time in the last 8 years. The margin of victory for the boys over second place Newfane was 20 point. The boys have racked up 110 wins with just 2 losses against league opponents during this 8 year span. Taking First Team All League honors were Jack Hopkins in 4th and Jake Arnold in 7th. Adam Wagner finished in 8th to grab Second Team All League honors. Honorable Mention recognition went to Drew Jenks in 17th, Michael Snell 19th, and Brent Bachman in 20th. Matt Pestinger placed 22nd.
 
The girls team placed 5th in the meet. Gabby Baker was 8th and took 2nd Team All League honors. Jessica Haseley placed 18th which was good for Honorable Mention All League honors. Alaina Israel was 33rd, Natalie Regling 39th, Sabrina Harris 45th, Elinore Voss 53rd, and Mary Rounds was 57th.
 
8 runners finished with personal best times: Voss, Hopkins, Snell, Adam Woodworth, Austin Sullivan, Robert Mason, Kyle Moeller, and Logan Harris. On Friday, November 6 the team travels to West Seneca to compete in sectionals.
 
 
Richbart Records Personal Best In Wins Over CSAT and Roy-Hart 
October 20, 2015
AKRON -- On Tuesday, the cross country team traveled to Akron Park to run against CSAT and Roy-Hart. The boys handed the Roy-Hart team their 1st league loss, 21-37. The boys are currently 7-0 in the Niagara-Orleans League and will look to capture their 7th league crown in 8 years on Saturday, October 31 at the all league meet. Jack Hopkins was Barker's top finisher in 2nd place. Jake Arnold was 3rd, Adam Wagner 4th, Drew Jenks 5th, Matt Pestinger 7th and Brent Bachman was 8th.
 
The Lady Raiders lost by a narrow margin to Roy-Hart, 27-29. Gabby Baker won the race while Jessica Haseley was 4th, Alaina Israel 5th, Sabrina Harris 8th, and Mary Rounds finished in 11th.
 
Both teams won handily against CSAT. The lone personal best time for Barker was by Zach Richbart.

ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Alden to run in the Stampede Invitational. The varsity boys placed 5th out of 18 teams. Out of 128 runners, Jack Hopkins placed 10th, Jake Arnold 17th, AJ Schafer 32nd, Brent Bachman 34th, and Adam Wagner was 41st.
 
The varsity girls placed 10th of 16 teams. Of 112 runners, Gabby Baker was 22nd, Emma Jenks 36th, Jessica Haseley 53rd, and Alaina Israel was 66th.
 
The JV boys placed 7th of 25 teams that included many large schools. Out of 283 runners, Mike Snell was 16th, Collin Webb 30th, Zach Richbart 43rd, and Evan Ecker was 45th.
 
On Tuesday the team travels to Akron Park to compete against Roy-Hart and CSAT.

BARKER -- On Tuesday, the Cross Country team hosted Akron and Newfane. The girls lost to both schools, but had 5 runners post personal best times: Jessica Haseley, Alaina Israel, Ellie Voss, Courtney Hillman, and Paige Sutch.
 
The boys team won both meets to remain undefeated in the Niagara-Orleans League at 5-0. Jack Hopkins placed 3rd, Jake Arnold was 4th and was closely followed by Adam Wagner in 5th. Brent Bachman was 8th, Drew Jenks 10th, Matt Pestinger 11th, and AJ Schafer 12th. 13 boys earned personal best honors: Wagner, Jenks, Schafer, Mike Snell, Adam Woodworth, Rocco Spagnolo, Dom Clemente, Garrett Dwyer, Austin Sullivan, Ryan Voss, Max Meister, Logan Harris, and Kyle Moeller.

WILSON -- Tuesday the Cross Country team traveled to Wilson to compete against the Lakemen and the Albion Purple Eagles. The girls team came away with a split decision: 23-32 over Wilson while losing to Albion by a 24-31 count. Gabby Baker led all runners placing 1st overall. Emma Jenks was 5th, Jessica Haseley 7th, Alaina Israel 12th, and Sabrina Harris was 14th.
 
The boys remained undefeated by capturing 2 victories: 22-39 over Albion and 21-40 over the host. Jack Hopkins was the overall winner. Matt Pestinger was 3rd, AJ Schafer 7th, Adam Wagner 8th, Brent Bachman 9th, Jake Arnold 10th, and Collin Webb was 13th.

ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Rochester to compete in the McQuaid Invitational. The Varsity Girls' team finished the day a very respectful 8th of 27 teams. Gabby Baker led the Lady Raiders placing 21st of 278 runners. Emma Jenks was 46th and Jessica Haseley was 72nd.
 
The JV Boys continued their winning ways at McQuaid and placed an impressive 2nd out of 33 schools. Over the past 5 years, the JV boys have finished 1st or 2nd in their race. Collin Webb led all runners in 17th out of 314 runners. Webb was followed closely by Adam Wagner in 18th and Joey Baronich in 21st.
 
The Varsity Boys had an impressive race placing 4th out of 38 schools. Jake Arnold led the Raiders in 15th out of 292 runners. Jack Hopkins was 28th, Matt Pestinger 36th, Drew Jenks 52nd, and Brent Bachman was 59th.

CENTRAL VALLEY -- Over the weekend, the Cross Country team traveled five and a half hours towards New York City to compete in the pre-state meet invitational held at Monroe-Woodbury High School. The course was very hilly and challenging and the weather was hot. The Varsity Boys team placed 12th with Jake Arnold taking top honors for Barker. Arnold was followed by Brent Bachman and then Jack Hopkins. Matt Pestinger was 4th for Barker followed by Mike Snell.
 
The Varsity Girls team was led by Gabby Baker and was followed by Jessica Haseley, Emma Jenks, and Alaina Israel.
 
The JV Boys were led by Joey Baronich and Adam Wagner.
 
 
Cross Country Reloads For Another Championship Run 
September 12, 2015
WEST SENECA -- Saturday the Cross Country team opened their season at the West Seneca Invitational at Sunshine Park. The Varsity Boys team took a solid 2nd place out of 15 schools. The team finished in second by just 2 points. After losing almost the entire Varsity team last season to graduation, Barker has reloaded and is ready to carry on the tradition. Jack Hopkins led Barker by placing 5th out of 102 runners. Jake Arnold made an amazing debut by placing 6th, Brent Bachman was a solid 14th, and Mike Snell also debuted with a strong finish in 25th. Drew Jenks and Matt Pestinger both ran personal best times and placed 30th and 31st while Evan Ecker rounded out the varsity in 48th.
 
The JV boys were impressive against a field of large schools and placed 6th out of 20 schools. Only very large Class A schools finished ahead of the team. Leading the way for Barker was Collin Webb in 23rd of 186 runners. Joe Baronich was 25th, Adam Wagner 26th, Zach Richbart 29th, AJ Schafer 30th, and Rocco Spagnolo was 43rd.
 
The Lady Raiders took 10th place behind Gabby Baker's 24th place out of 101 runners. Emma Jenks was 44th, Jessica Haseley 59th, Alaina Israel 66th, and Natalie Regling was 83rd.
 
 
 
Sergio Cruz Earns All-State Team Honors; Team Captures Second Place Finish

CANTON -- Last weekend, the Cross Country team traveled to SUNY Canton to run in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association State Meet. It was cold and muddy, but the boys team ran well and captured 2nd place overall to become the Class D Runner-up State Champions. Barker was a narrow 6 points behind Beaver River from Section III. Barker has been the Runner-up State Champions on 3 other occasions - 2008, 2010, and 2012.
 
Sergio Cruz placed 16th overall and earned a spot on the All-State team. Casey Webb was 30th, Doug Bachman 39th, Dustin Walters 43rd, Jack Hopkins 56th, Tanner Gregoire 70th, and Christopher Sweeney was 73rd.
 
 
Sectional Champs Are State Bound

WEST SENECA -- On Friday, the Cross Country team traveled to West Seneca to run their sectional and state qualifier at a muddy Sunshine Park. The girls placed 4th overall upsetting a Sherman team that was ranked in the state. Gabby Baker almost qualified for the state meet. She was edged out by .7 seconds. She improved her time by 1:06 from the previous time running on the same course. She was 8th overall. Emma Jenks was 21st, Natalie Regling 26th, Melissa Pestinger 29th, Chloe Goodlander 31st, Jessica Haseley 32nd, and Alaina Israel was 37th.
 
The boys cross country team avenged 2 losses to Maple Grove from earlier in the season and won by a narrow 2 points to win their 8th consecutive Section VI Class D Championship. The big story of the day was Casey Webb running his fastest time in 2 years. He placed 7th overall and was a key to the victory. Sergio Cruz was 3rd overall, Doug Bachman was 10th, Dustin Walters 11th, Jack Hopkins 13th, Tanner Gregoire 14th, and Christopher Sweeney was 23rd. This Friday, the boys travel to SUNY Canton in Section X to compete in the state meet. The boys team is looking to claim their 3rd state team championship in 6 years.
 
Earning a personal best time was Goodlander, Baker, Regling, Walters, Webb, and Hopkins.
 
Baker Leads Barker Cross Country Success At All League 
October 25, 2014 
WATERPORT -- The Cross Country team traveled to Lakeside Beach State Park on Saturday to run in the Niagara-Orleans League All League competition. The girls came away with many good times. Gabby Baker stole the show as she placed 7th overall which placed her on the 1st team. She is only the 2nd Barker runner to be on 1st Team since 1994. Jessica Haseley placed 30th while Natalie Regling avenged 18 losses from the regular season to place 33rd. Melissa Pestinger was 38th, Emma Jenks 40th, Chloe Goodlander 48th, and Mary Rounds was 52nd.
 
For the 6th time in 7 years, the Boys Cross Country team won the league championship with a perfect record of 14 wins and 0 losses. Over the past 7 seasons, the boys have a very impressive league record of 96-2 losses. Defending his league championship and being undefeated in league competition for 2 years was Sergio Cruz. Also making 1st Team All League was Doug Bachman in 4th place, Jack Hopkins in 5th, and Dustin Walters in 6th place. 2nd Team All League included Casey Webb in 8th place, Christopher Sweeney in 9th, and Brent Bachman in 13th as Barker placed 7 in the top 13. Dominic Clemente and Adam Wagner had personal best times.
 
The team will travel on Friday, October 31 to West Seneca to compete in the Section VI Championships. The boys are striving for their 8th Sectional Championship in a row.
 
Cruz And Baker Capture Firsts Versus CSAT

AKRON -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team traveled to the Akron Sports Complex to run against CSAT. Both the boys and girls teams posted scores of 15-50. The girls are now 4-3 in the league while the boys are 7-0. Sergio Cruz and Gabby Baker both won their races. The boys captured the top 14 places while the girls captured the top 8 places.
 

Varsity Boys Claim Second At Alden Stampede
October 11, 2014
ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Alden to run in the Alden Stampede. The JV Boys placed 5th of 16 schools losing only to Class A schools. Leading the way was Brent Bachman placing 2nd overall out of 193 runners. Carter Pisarski was 5th, Evan Ecker was 34th and Collin Webb was 38th. 
 
The JV Girls had a nice run as Chloe Goodlander placed 49th out of 172 runners. Mary Rounds was 52nd, and Carolyn Merlin was 53rd. 
 
The Varsity Girls placed 6th out of 10 teams. Gabby Baker placed 11th out of 172 runners. Emma Jenks was 36th, Jessica Haseley 42nd, Natalie Regling 46th, and Alaina Israel was 51st.
 
The Varsity Boys placed 2nd out of 11 schools with Sergio Cruz placing 3rd out of 67 runners. Doug Bachman was 8th, Tanner Gregoire 13th, Jack Hopkins 17th, and Dusty Walters was 21st.
 
There were 19 personal best times by Barker at the invitational. The team will travel on Tuesday to the Akron Sports Complex near Akron Park to run against CSAT.
 
 
Girls Take Cross Country Meet On Tie Breaker

BARKER -- Tuesday the Cross Country team hosted Wilson and Akron. The girls came up with a split decision losing to Akron, but taking the race from Wilson on a tie breaker. Melissa Pestinger was the one that broke the tie. Gabby Baker was the top Barker female placing 8th overall. Baker, Alaina Israel, Becca Pisarski, and Alexis Greene all had personal best times.
 
The boys came away with two victories placing 8 of the top 9 spots. Sergio Cruz was the overall winner. The scores for the boys races were 15-50 over Akron and 16-47 over Wilson. The boys are now on top of the Niagara-Orleans League at 6-0. Tanner Gregoire, Drew Jenks, Evan Ecker, Zach Richbart, Matt Pestinger, Rocco Spagnolo, Garrett Dwyer, Joshuwa Weakland, Dominic Clemente, Collin Webb, Adam Wagner, and Collin Stevener all had personal best times.
 
 
Cross Country Hosts Newfane & Albion As Boys Move To 4-0

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team hosted Newfane and Albion. The girls came away with some tough losses, but had some good performances. Gabby Baker was 6th overall with a time of 22:14. Jessica Haseley was 15th, Melissa Pestinger 18th, Alaina Israel 19th, and Emma Jenks was 20th. 
 
The boys came away with 2 victories: 19-42 over Newfane and 17-46 over Albion. The boys are now 4-0 in the league. Leading the way was Sergio Cruz with a winning time of 16:58. Doug Bachman was 2nd, Casey Webb 4th, Dustin Walters 6th, Christopher Sweeney 8th, Tanner Gregoire 9th, and Brent Bachman was 10th. 
 
There were 21 personal best times for the team.  
 
 
JV Boys Take Second At McQuaid 
September 27, 2014
ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Rochester to compete in the McQuaid Invitational. The girls team turned out some great individual performances. Gabby Baker led Barker placing 54th out of 311 runners. Natalie Regling was 150th, Emma Jenks 151st, Jessica Haseley 155th, Melissa Pestinger 168th, Alaina Israel 169th, and Chloe Goodlander was 199th. 7 girls had personal best times.
 
 
The Varsity Boys team placed 4th out of 19 teams in a very strong race. Leading Barker and placing 12th out of 146 runners was Sergio Cruz. Doug Bachman was 34th, Casey Webb 35th, Brent Bachman 45th, Tanner Gregoire 48th, Dustin Walters 59th, and Christopher Sweeney was 71st.  Four of the Varsity Boys turned in personal best times.
 
Over the last 3 years, the JV Boys have won the JV race by a large margin. This year, East Aurora joined the race for the 1st time to provide some stiff competition from a much larger school. The JV Raiders ran tough and finished 2nd out of 26 schools. Leading Barker was Carter Pisarski in 5th place out of 286 runners. Jack Hopkins was 11th, AJ Schafer 21st, Sean Benoit 25th, Collin Webb 43rd, Zach Richbart 49th, Andrew Jenks 78th, Matt Pestinger 83rd, Joe Baronich 85th, and Aidan O'Shea was 131st. 14 JV runners had personal best times.
 
The team competes at home on Tuesday on the nature trail against Newfane and Albion. The girls race at 4:45 and the boys race at 5:15.
 
 
Cross Country Team Sweeps At Roy-Hart

ROYALTON -- The Cross Country team traveled to Roy-Hart yesterday for their 1st league meet of the season against the Rams and the Medina Mustangs. 
 
The girls came away with two victories: a 20-35 win over Roy-Hart and a 15-50 win over Medina. Gabby Baker led all Barker runners placing 3rd overall. Emma Jenks was 5th, Melissa Pestinger 6th, Alaina Israel 7th, and Jessica Haseley was 8th. 
 
The boys also came away with two victories: a 17-46 win over Roy-Hart and a 17-45 win over Medina. Sergio Cruz led all runners placing 1st overall. Doug Bachman was 2nd, Casey Webb 3rd, Tanner Gregoire 6th, Dusty Walters 7th, Christopher Sweeney 8th, and Brent Bachman was 10th. 
 
Earning personal best time were Haseley, Elise Zapp, Sean Benoit, Matt Pestinger, Garrett Dwyer, Adam Wagner, Becca Pisarski, and Dominic Clementi.
 
 
Cruz Led Raiders Place 4th At Canton
September 20, 2014
CANTON -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Canton, New York to compete in the pre-state meet invitational. The boys’ team came away with a 4th place finish out of 12 schools. Sergio Cruz led the way placing 5th out of 93 runners. Doug Bachman was 27th, Casey Webb 29th, Dustin Walters 39th and Tanner Gregoire 40th.
 
The varsity girls had some good performances including Gabby Baker placing 40th, Alaina Israel 61st, and Jessica Haseley, in her 1st Varsity race, placing 65th.
 
The JV boys showed dominance by placing 5 out of the top 8. Carter Pisarski was 2nd, Evan Ecker 4th, AJ Schafer 5th, Sean Benoit 6th, and Collin Webb was 8th.
 
The top finisher for the JV girls was Chloe Goodlander placing 13th overall. A total of 7 runners had personal best times at the Canton race.
 
Tuesday the team travels to Roy-Hart to compete against the Rams and Medina/Lyndonville. Seven runners had personal best times. 
 
 
Barker Cross Country Off And Running In 2014

WEST SENECA -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team opened up their season at the West Seneca Invitational. The Frosh-Soph boys’ team placed 7th out of 33 schools. They were the 1st Class D school. Most of the other 6 schools that finished ahead of Barker were large schools. Out of 232 runners, Jack Hopkins led the way for Barker with a 4th place finish. Andrew Jenks was 47th, Collin Webb 51st, Zach Richbart 67th, AJ Schafer 70th, Evan Ecker 79th, and Aidan O'Shea was 90th to round out the top 7.
 
The Varsity Boys placed 3rd out of 22 schools. Sergio Cruz placed 9th out of 144 runners with a blazing time of 16:50. Doug Bachman was 13th, Casey Webb 28th, Brent Bachman 31st, Tanner Gregoire 35th, and Dusty Walters was 40th. In a Varsity race for Juniors and Seniors, Carter Pisarski placed 19th out of 142 runners.
 
The girls team had a good start to their season. In the Frosh-Soph race, Jessica Haseley placed 67th out of 156 runners. Carolyn Merlin was 107th, Chloe Goodlander 111th, Rebecca Pisarski 123rd and Alexis Green was 129th. The previous group of runner were 7th and 8th graders competing against 9th and 10th graders.
 
In the varsity race, Gabby Baker led Barker placing 47th out of 138 runners. Emma Jenks was 82nd, Natalie Regling 100th, Alaina Israel 105th, Melissa Pestinger 107th, and Mary Rounds was 127th.
 
Barker had a very impressive 22 personal best times for the entire team. On Friday, the team travels to Canton, NY for the annual Barker Cross Country road trip to compete in the invitational on the course which will be the site for the state meet in November.

Hathaway Leads Barker At States
November 9, 2013
QUEENSBURY -- Saturday the Cross Country team traveled to Queensbury to compete in the New York State Meet. The boys had a valiant effort and placed 3rd in Class D. In a very competitive field, Hayden Hathaway led all Barker runners and placed 28th with a personal best time of 16:51. The race included the 120 best Class D runners in New York. Sergio Cruz placed 39th in a personal best time of 17:12.7, Bryce Moeller placed 40th in a season best time of 17:17.2, Doug Bachman placed 51st in a personal best time of 17:30.1, Casey Webb placed 58th in a season best time of 17:39.1, Dustin Walters placed 66th tying his personal best time of 17:59.8, and Christopher Sweeney placed 69th in a personal best time of 18:02.9. The boys end their season with an overall record of 94 wins and only 4 losses.

Katie Przybyl also participated in her 3rd State Championship and ran her best time of the year to placed 43rd in time of 20:42.9. 


Przybyl And Boys Cross Country Team Going To New York State Meet

BEMUS POINT -- Friday, the Cross Country team traveled 2.5 hours to Long Point State Park to compete in the Section VI Championships. The girls posted an upset by placing 3rd as they finished ahead of a Sherman team that was ranked in the New York State. Katie Przybyl was 8th overall. Przybyl finished as the 4th individual runner and qualified for her 3rd NYSPHSAA Meet. Emma Jenks was 13th, Melissa Pestinger 15th, Gabby Baker 17th, Kamilah Robison 26th, Natalie Regling 27th, and Paige Wagner was 28th.  
 
The boys team won their 7th consecutive sectional championship with a very low total of 26 points. Second place Sherman finished with 56 points. Leading the way for the Raiders was Bryce Moeller in 2nd, Sergio Cruz 3rd, Hayden Hathaway 4th, Casey Webb 6th, Dustin Walters 11th, Christopher Sweeney 13th, and Doug Bachman was 15th.
 
The boys team and Przybyl will compete at the New York State Meet on Saturday in Queensbury. The boys are highly ranked and are looking to capture Barker's third team state championship.  
 
5 runners ran personal best times on a course that was very muddy: Jenks, Baker, Robison, Wagner and Hathaway.  
 
 
Boys Cross Country Team Wins League Title For 5th Time In 6 Years
October 26, 2013
WATERPORT -- The Cross Country team travelled to Lakeside Beach State Park on Saturday for the Niagara-Orleans League championships. The girls team pulled off a third place finish out of eight schools and ended the league season with an impressive 10-4 record. Leading the way and earning 2nd Team All League honors was Katie Przybyl. Przybyl was 9th out of 63 runners. Melissa Pestinger, Emma Jenks, and Gabrielle Baker were Honorable Mention as they finished in 15th, 18th, and 19th place respectively. Paige Wagner was 32nd, Natalie Regling 37th, and Kamilah Robison 39th.

The boys regained their league championship and finished the season 14-0 in the league. Barker scored a low 17 points. Second place was good for 81. This is the lowest point total since 2000, and maybe ever at the N-O League meet. The boys dominated the race by placing 10 of the top 20 runners. Leading the way and running to an individual league championship was Sergio Cruz who was 1st of 100 runners. Cruz along with Bryce Moeller in 2nd, Hayden Hathaway in 3rd, Casey Webb in 4th and Doug Bachman in 7th were all 1st team runners. This was a team best of First Team members when seven runners have competed for Barker. Taking 2nd Team honors was Christopher Sweeney in 8th, Dusty Walters in 10th, and Tanner Gregoire in 12th. Honorable Mention went to Nolan Bouchane in 16th, and Brent Bachman in 20th. The boys have a season record of 82 wins and 2 losses.

The team will travel Friday to Long Point State Park in Bemus Point to compete in the Section VI Championships. The boys are looking to capture their 7th sectional championship in a row.

Barker Takes Top 5 Spots At Akron

AKRON -- On Tuesday the Cross Country team traveled to Akron to run against the Tigers. The girls team lost to a very tough and state ranked Akron team with Katie Przybyl being the top Barker finisher in 5th place. Melissa Pestinger was 8th, Gabby Baker 10th, Paige Wagner 13th, and Kamilah Robison was 14th. The girls are 5-2 in the Niagara-Orleans League.
 
The boys posted a very impressive 15-48 win over Akron. Barker placed in 12 of the top 15 places including the top 5. Sergio Cruz was 1st, Bryce Moeller 2nd, Hayden Hathaway 3rd, Casey Webb 4th, Doug Bachman 5th, Dusty Walters 7th, Nolan Bouchane 8th, and Christopher Sweeney was 10th. The boys have a perfect 7-0 league record.
 
 
A week from Saturday, the Cross Country team will have compete at Lakeside Beach State Park in the N-O League Meet.
 
 
Moeller Finishes 5th To Lead Way At Alden

ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Alden to run in the Alden Bulldog Invitational. The boys team had a tough race against the Alden team, but came out victorious to win the first place trophy out of 13 schools. Of 94 runners, Bryce Moeller was 5th, Sergio Cruz 6th, Casey Webb 11th, Dusty Walters 15th, Doug Bachman 17th, Hayden Hathaway 18th, and Christopher Sweeney was 29. The boys have an overall record of 74 wins and only 2 losses.
 
 
The JV boys had a great showing placing 2nd out of 15 schools that included many larger schools. Out of 192 runners, Tanner Gregoire was 4th, Nolan Bouchane 8th, Jack Hopkins 9th, Brent Bachman 20th, and Carter Pisarski was 21st.
 
The girls team placed 7th out of 12 teams. Out of 83 runners, Katie Przybyl was 13th, Melissa Pestinger 30th, Alaina Israel 47th, Kamilah Robison 49th, Gabby Baker 55th, and Mary Rounds was 60th.
 
 
The JV girls had a great race. In a race of 71 runners, Natalie Regling placed 12th, Paige Wagner 15th, Sabrina Harris 34th, and Carolyn Merlin was 35th.
 
 
The following earned a personal best time: Hopkins, Zach Richbart, Matt Pestinger, Ryan Voss, Collin Stevener, Kyle Moeller, Melissa Pestinger, and Regling. The next meet is Tuesday when they travel to Akron to complete the first round of league meets.

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Cross Country teams hosted CSAT and Wilson and combined to have 19 personal best times and 4 team wins.  
 
The girls stormed to a 15-50 win over CSAT and defeated Wilson 19-39. Barker took 5 of the top 6 places. Katie Przybyl was 1st, Melissa Pestinger was 3rd, Gabby Baker 4th, Mary Rounds 5th, and Alaina Israel was 6th. The girls now have 5 wins and 1 loss in the league.  
 
The boys notched perfect scores of 15-50 over both CSAT and Wilson to improve their league record to 6-0. The boys took the top 8 places. Sergion Cruz was 1st, Casey Webb 2nd, Doug Bachman 3rd, Dusty Walters 4th, Christopher Sweeney 5th, Tanner Gregoire 6th, Nolan Bouchane 7th, and Brent Bachman was 8th.

Przybyl Takes Second At Albion

ALBION -- Tuesday the Cross Country team travelled to Albion to run against the Purple Eagles and the Medina Mustangs. The girls pulled out two victories to improve their league record to 3-1. Barker edged Albion 25-37 and defeated Medina 15 to 50. Katie Przybyl was 2nd, Emma Jenks 3rd, Melissa Pestinger 6th, Alaina Israel 8th, Kamilah Robison 9th, and Mary Rounds was 10th.
 
The Boys team ran to two more victories with a perfect score victory of 15 to 50 over Albion and took a 17-46 decision from Medina. Sergio Cruz placed 1st, Bryce Moeller was 2nd, Casey Webb 3rd, Hayden Hathaway 5th, Dusty Walters 6th, Doug Bachman 7th, and Tanner Gregoire was 8th. The boys are a perfect 4-0 in the league.
 
Ryan Voss and Kyle Moeller both had personal best times.
 
 
JV Boys Cross Country Takes Third Straight McQuaid Invitational - Bachman Grabs First
September 28, 2013
ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team traveled to Rochester to compete in the prestigious McQuaid Invitational. There were almost 8000 runners at the event which is the largest 5k in the Northeast United States. The JV Boys team successfully defended their title by winning the race for a third consecutive time. Barker finished ahead of 31 other teams in a race which included 301 runners. Leading the way and accomplishing something that no previous Barker runner has ever done, Brent Bachman placed 1st. Tanner Gregoire was 2nd, Jack Hopkins 3rd, Carter Pisarski 5th, and John Page was 21st. The boys scored a very low 31 points compared to the 2nd place team of 108 points. All JV runners earned a personal best time.
 
The Varsity Girls team ran very well and placed a very impressive 13th out of 32 schools in a race featuring 312 runners. Leading the way for Barker was Katie Przybyl in 27th, Melissa Pestinger 77th, Emma Jenks 85th, Gabby Baker 122nd, Natalie Regling 147th, Kamilah Robison 156th, and Paige Wagner was 161st. Pestinger, Jenks, Baker, Regling, Robison, Alaina Israel and Wagner all earned personal best times.

The Varsity Boys ran in the small schools seeded race which is a race for the best schools to compete in. Barker was an impressive 3rd out of 24 schools. The race included 173 runners. Sergio Cruz placed 17th, Bryce Moeller 20th, Casey Webb 33rd, Hayden Hathaway 42nd, Doug Bachman 49th, Dusty Walters 50th and Nolan Bouchane was 82nd. The team currently boast a record of 58-2. Cruz, Moeller, Webb, Hathaway, Bachman and Walters all registered personal best times.
 
On Tuesday the team travels to Albion High School to compete against the Purple Eagles and the Medina Mustangs.
 
 
N-O League Cross Country Season Opens

NEWFANE -- Tuesday the Cross Country team opened their league season with the Roy-Hart Rams and the host Panthers at Newfane. The girls team split the meet with a 7 point win over Roy-Hart while losing to Newfane. Leading the way with an improved time was Katie Przybyl in 3rd place. Emma Jenks was 8th, Melissa Pestinger 10th, Liz Luckman 13th, Alaina Israel 18th, Kamilah Robison 19th, and Mary Rounds was in 20th to take the final of seven spots for Barker.
 
The boys team showed why they are a dominant force in the state by placing 6 of the top 7 runners. Sergio Cruz won his first league meet to lead the way. Bryce Moeller was 2nd, Hayden Hathaway 4th, Doug Bachman 5th, Dusty Walters 6th, Christopher Sweeney 7th, and Nolan Bouchane was 10th to round out the top 7. The boys defeated Roy-Hart by a perfect score of 15-50 and also took an 18-43 decision from Newfane. The team is now 2-0 in the league and 37-0 overall.

Varsity Boys Cross Country Successfully Defends Queensbury Invitational Title
September 21, 2013
QUEENSBURY -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team travelled 5.5 hours across the state to compete in the Queensbury invitational which is also the site of the New York State Meet this fall. There were many good performances from the Barker representatives. Topping off the day was the Varsity Boys team who defended their 1st place finish from a year ago and captured the title. 25 teams were competing for that honor. Leading the way was Sergio Cruz in 12th, Bryce Moeller 15th, Casey Webb 30th, Dustin Walters 40th, Doug Bachman 51st, Hayden Hathaway 55th, and Chris Sweeney was 88th. There were 172 runners in the race. The win keeps Barker at the top of the list of Class D schools in New York State. The team is currently undefeated with 35 wins in their two invitationals.

The JV boys had a good showing with a 6th place finish and racing against much larger schools. Out of 206 runners, Nolan Bouchane led the charge in 35th. Tanner Gregoire was 38th, Jack Hopkins 43rd, Brent Bachman 44th and Carter Pisarski was 60th.
 
The Varsity Girls had a good day also. Out of 232 runners, Katie Przybyl was 60th, Melissa Pestinger 94th, Emma Jenks 99th, Gabby Baker 111th, and Liz Luckman was 114th.

The JV Girls ran against some large schools and placed 8th overall. Out of 160 runners, Natalie Regling placed 79th, Alaina Israel was 91st, Kamilah Robison 95th, Paige Wagner 98th, and Carolyn Merlin was 113th. Paige Sandolfini ran in her first race and did a nice job.

Earning a personal best time was Baker, Luckman, Regling, Sandolfini, Wagner, Gregoire, Matthew Pestinger, Ryan Voss, Kyle Moeller, Collin Stevener, Zachary Richbart.

League meets begin on Tuesday when the teams will travel to Newfane to run against the Panthers and the Roy-Hart Rams.
 
 
Varsity Boys Cross Country Runs To Victory At Red Dragon Invitational

BEMUS POINT -- On Saturday the Cross Country team made their 2013 debut by competing at Long Point State Park. Barker entered the Red Dragon Invitational, hosted by Maple Grove. The JV Boys placed an impressive second amongst large schools. Leading the way was Chris Sweeney in 4th place. Jack Hopkins was 5th, Carter Pisarski 11th, John Page 22nd, and Morgan Fay 24th.

The JV Girls had Gaby Baker in 12th, Natalie Regling in 17th, Paige Wagner in 34th, and Carolyn Merlin in 36th.

The Varsity girls placed seventh. Leading the way was Katie Przybyl in 17th, Melissa Pestinger was 21st, Emma Jenks 22nd, Mary Rounds 49th, Sabrina Harris 51st, Kamilah Robison 52nd, and Alaina Israel 53rd.

The Varsity Boys placed 1st. Leading the way for the Raiders was Sergio Cruz in 5th, Bryce Moeller 7th, Casey Webb 11th, Doug Bachman 18th, Dustin Walters 19th, Hayden Hathaway 24th, Nolan Bouchane 30th, Brent Bachman 33rd, and Tanner Gregoire 39th.
 
 
 
 
Five Years Straight Being In Top Two At States For Boys Cross Country

ELMA -- On Saturday, the Boys Cross Country team traveled to Elma Meadows and became the Runner-up State Champions for Class D. This marks a string of five years where the Barker Running Raiders have placed in the top two in the NYS Class D race. Jordan Bender and Bryce Moeller both placed in the top 20 to make the All State Team. Bender was 10th while Moeller finished in 15th. Casey Webb was 30th, Hayden Hathaway 43rd, Dustin Walters 57th with a personal best time, Segio Cruz 59th, and Nolan Bouchane was 68th.
 
The season was one to remember. Coach DerSarkissian and Coach Lamb want to thank all the runners for their hard work and dedication to Barker Cross country. How Sweet it was!
 
 
Boys Cross Country Team Takes Section 6 Championship
November 2, 2012
ELMA -- On Friay the Cross Country team travelled to Elma Meadows Golf Course to compete in the Section 6 Championships. The girls team placed 5th with Katie Przybyl narrowly missing out on going to the New York State Meet. Przbyl was one place removed from qualifying for the state race. Emma Jenks had a personal best performance on the day.
 
The boys team captured their sixth consecutive Section 6 Class D Champioship by defeating Maple Grove 26-34. Placing second overall was Jordan Bender. Bryce Moeller was 3rd, Hayden Hathaway 5th, Casey Webb 6th, Sergio Cruz 10th, Nolan Bouchane 13th, and Dusty Walters 14th. The boys showed a dominating performance against the team ranked one spot below them in the New York State rankings.
 
The team now heads to the state meet which take place on Saturday at the same course they were just crowned section champs. Barker will attempt to defend their state title. Should they complete the task it would be their third state championship in the last four years.
 
  
Cross Country Competes At Lakeside Beach
October 27, 2012
WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team travelled to Lakeside Beach State Park to compete in the Niagara Orleans All League race. The girls team placed fifth to finish their league season at 6-8. Katie Przybyl was 9th overall which was good for 2nd Team All League.
 
The boys had a close meet as they were edged out by Albion by a mere four points. The boys closed out their NO season with a 12-2 record. Jordan Bender placed first overall to become the NO League Champion. Also making first team was Bryce Moeller who placed 5th. 2nd team members from Barker were Casey Webb in 10th, Hayden Hathaway in 11th and in 14th place was Sergio Cruz.  Nolan Bouchane who was 15th, Dustin Walters 18th, and Doug Bachman 19th all received Honorable Mention accolades.
 
On Friday, November 2 the team travels to Elma Meadows to compete in the Section 6 Championships. The boys team is looking for it's sixth consecutive sectional title.
 
 
Bender Grabs First In Home Meets
October 16, 2012
BARKER -- On Tuesday afternoon, the Cross Country team hosted the Akron Tigers and the Roy-Hart Rams. Running well, but dropping both meets the girls team fell to 3-4 in the league. Katie Przybyl placed first overall in a time of 20:40. Mary Rounds placed 10th and Melissa Pestinger placed 14th.

The boys dominated their two races with identical scores of 19-42. The boys team is now 6-1 in the Niagara Orleans League. Jordan Bender won the race in a time of 16:45. Bryce Moeller was 3rd, Casey Webb 5th, Hayden Hathaway 6th, and Sergio Cruz was 8th. The entire team ran well, but special recognition goes to Chris Sweeney, Mike Schian, and Dusty Walters for getting personal best times.
 
 
Major Improvements On Personal Best Times At Alden

ALDEN -- On Saturday, the Cross Country team competed in the Alden Invitational and had an amazing 18 of 24 runners post personal best times. The girls had a good showing placing 11th with Katie Przybyl coming in 6th and breaking her own personal record by 27 seconds with a time of 20:02 and Mary Rounds took 63rd. Sabrina Harris, who just came off the injured reserved, ran her fastest race of the year placing 66th. Melissa Pestinger was 80th while Emma Jenks chopped 1:38 off her personal best to place 87th. Alaina Israel chopped 1:10 off her best time to finish 93rd.
 
The JV boys did an outstanding job with 8 of the 9 runners getting personal best times. The boys placed 5th out of 20 large schools. Of the 262 runners, Dustin Walters was 8th. Chris Sweeney was close behind in 10th, Brent Bachman 21st, Carter Pisarski 32nd, Seth Russell 84th, Nick Israel 85th, Mike Schian was 146th, Terence Haag was 161st, and Alfredo Bautista was 171st.

The Varsity Boys stole the show by winning the small school division and beating Alden, which was ranked ahead of Barker. On an individual note was was Jordan Bender placing 1st in an impressive time of 16:30. Bender shaved 28 seconds off his personal best. Bryce Moeller placed 6th, Casey Webb was 8th, Hayden Hathaway 13th, Sergio Cruz 21st, Nolan Bouchane 23rd, and Doug Bachman was 60th.

Przybl Leads Way Against Albion
October 9, 2012
BARKER -- On Tuesday he Cross Country team hosted the Albion Purple Eagles. The girls won 22-33 with Katie Przybyl leading the way with a first place finish. Melissa Pestinger was 3rd, Mary Rounds 5th, Emma Jenks 6th, and Alaina Israel was 7th. The girls now have a record of 3-2 in the Niagara Orleans League.
 
The boys entered Tuesday's competition having won 60 league meets in a row. Through a hard fought race with Barker runners obtaining personal best times, the score ended all even at 28. The tie breaker goes to the sixth runner which gave Albion the victory. Barker now has a 4-1 league record. Leading the way for Barker was Jordan Bender who took 1st, Bryce Moeller 3rd, Hayden Hathaway 6th, Casey Webb 7th, Sergio Cruz 11th, Doug Bachman 12th, and Nolan Bouchane was 13th.
 
 
Boys Cross Country N-O League Winning Streak Reaches 60
October 2, 2012
WILSON -- Tuesday, the Cross Country team competed at Tuscarora Park against the Wilson Lakemen and the Newfane Panthers. The girls lost to Newfane by a 21-38 margin and dropped a 24-32 decision to Wilson. The league record for the Barker girls is now 2-2. Leading the way for the running Lady Raiders was Katie Przybyl in 3rd, Mary Rounds was 10th, Melissa Pestinger 11th, and Emma Jenks was 14th. Completing their first race ever were foreign exchange students Victoria Romor in 15th, and Ana DeNascimento in 16th.
 
The boys continued their dominance over the Niagara Orleans League with victories over Newfane, 15-50 and Wilson, 15-49. The league record for the boys is now 4-0. The boys currently have won 60 straight league meets and they will put that on the line next Tuesday when they host undefeated Albion. Leading the way for Barker was Jordan Bender in 1st, Bryce Moeller was 2nd, Sergio Cruz 3rd, Doug Bachman 4th, Casey Webb 5th, Hayden Hathaway 6th, Dustin Walters 8th, and Nolan Bouchane 11th. 12 running Raiders had personal best times on the day.
 
JV Boys Cross Country Takes McQuaid Invitational For Second Straight Year
September 29, 2012
ROCHESTER -- On Saturday, Cross Country travelled to Rochester to run at the McQuaid Invitational. The girls team placed 23rd out of 35 teams. Leading the way and running a historic faster time than any other Barker female was Katie Przybyl in 6th place out of 318 runners. Melissa Pestinger was 122nd, Mary Rounds 187th, Emma Jenks 227th, and Alaina Israel 238th.
 
The JV boys placed a very impressive first for the 2nd year in a row. Placing 2nd overall out of 294 runners was Dustin Walters. Christopher Sweeney was 8th, Carter Pisarski 14th, Brent Bachman 19th in his first ever race, and Seth Russell was 45th.
 
The Varsity boys ran in the exclusive seeded race for small schools. Out of 24 of the best small schools in the area, Barker placed an impressive seventh. Jordan Bender was 17th with an impressive time of 15:54. Bender's time was good for second best all time for a Barker runner. Bill Beilein is the only Barker runner who has ever had a better time than Bender. Bryce Moeller was 38th, Sergio Cruz 53rd, Casey Webb 59th, Hayden Hathaway 78th, Nolan Bouchane 83rd, and Doug Bachman was 114th.
 
On Tuesday the teams are back in action as they travel to Wilson for a meet against Newfane and the host Lakemen.
 
 
Girls Cross Country Team Takes Two In League Opener
September 25, 2012
MEDINA -- Tuesday the Cross Country teams opened Niagara Orleans League competition and took Medina and CSAT by storm. The girls won handily over Medina 15-50 and 19-39 over CSAT. The girls are now 2-0 in league competition. Leading the way was Katie Przybyl in 1st, followed by Sabrina Harris in 4th, Melissa Pestinger 5th, Mary Rounds 6th, Alaina Israel 7th, and Emma Jenks 9th.
 
The boys team also ran exceptionally well with a 37-22 win and a 15-50 margin over Medina and CSAT respectively. The boys are also now 2-0 to open the league schedule. Leading the way was Jordan Bender in 1st. Bryce Moeller was 3rd, Sergio Cruz 5th, Casey Webb 6th, Hayden Hathaway 7th, Doug Bachman 9th, Dustin Walters 10th, Nolan Bouchane 11th, Carter Pisarski 12th and Christopher Sweeney 13th.  
 
 
Boys Cross Country Team Claims Queensbury Invitational
September 22, 2012
QUEENSBURY -- On Saturday the Cross Country team traveled to compete in the Queensbury invitational. The boys took the meet by storm and placed 1st out of 18 schools in the small schools race. Out of 134 runners, Jordan Bender led the way in 4th place. Bryce Moeller was 17th, Casey Webb 25th, Nolan Bouchane 31st, Sergio Cruz 33rd, Doug Bachman 41st, and Dustin Walters 43rd.

The girls placed 12th with Katie Przybyl placing 19th out of 114 girls. Sabrina Harris was 59th, Melissa Pestinger 75th, Alaina Israel 88th, and Emma Jenks 93rd.

The JV boys placed 12th with Hayden Hathaway leading the way placing 44th out of 277 runners. Chris Sweeney was 98th, Carter Pisarski 121st, Nick Israel 167th, and Seth Rusell 202nd. The teams are back in action on Tuesday as league competition begins with a race against CSAT and Medina at Medina.
 
 
Cross Country Teams Off And Running In 2012

WEST SENECA -- The Cross Country team traveled to West Seneca on Saturday to run in their first invitational of the year at Sunshine Park. The Varsity Girls team had a nice opener as Katie Przybyl was 14th overall with a time of 21:05, just missing a personal best. Sabrina Harris was 42nd, Melissa Pestinger 61st,  Mary Rounds 74th. Emma Jenks ran her first race and placed 86th while and Alaina Israel ran her first Varsity race and crossed the finish line in 97th. Barker finished the race in 9th of 14 schools.
 
The JV Boys also had a nice showing placing 8th of 13 schools. There were 134 runners in the race. Chris Sweeney led Barker in the race of 134 runners. Sweeney finished with a time of 19:36.4. Carter Pisarski was 25th, Nick Israel 67th, Terence Haag 97th, Mike Schian 104th, and Alfredo Bautista 110th.
 
The Varsity Boys have five new runners on this years squad and are on a mission to defend their league, section and state championships. After losing five runners to graduation, the boys team turned in a great performance and showed they are up to the title defense task. Barker was an impressive third out of 16 schools. Leading the way was captain, Jordan Bender placing 6th overall in a time of 17:12.2. Bryce Moeller was 24th, Sergio Cruz 27th, Nolan Bouchane 29th, Casey Webb 30th, Doug Bachman 33rd, and Dustin Walters 47th.
