JV Raiders Hit Parade Continues Against CSAT
May 11, 2009BARKER -- The JV Baseball won its third in a row on Monday with a 15-9 victory over CSAT. Jake Haight led the hit parade with four as Barker pounded out 16 hits. Two of Haight's hits were doubles. Austin Blackley and Zach Shaft each had three. Tony Diez, Brett Cole and Spencer Moore all had two hits. Blackley connected for a triple while Moore laced a double. After a shaky start Haight settled in and struck out seven while scattering eight hits and two walks to pick up the win. The defense was solid behind him and the team brought out the bats and was very aggressive. "Over the past few games the team has started to swing the bats more and because they go up there hacking away they've put the ball in play a lot more and struck out a lot less," said Coach Jeff Costello. "It's been great to see these guys make contact so frequently over the past three games." "The way we've played defense lately has allowed us to be more competitive and has been a big factor in us winning," stated Coach Nate Sutch. The JVs are now 4-3 in the N-O League and 6-8 overall. The team will host Roy-Hart on Tuesday at 4:30 on the Varsity field.JV Baseball Home
