    NEWFANE -- The Raiders Tennis team improved to 9-1 by defeating Newfane 5-0 on Monday. Erick Bennes played some of his best tennis of the season winning in straight sets while dropping only four points in the first set against an opponent who is headed to the Section VI playoffs. Bennes is also headed to the Section VI playoffs on Tuesday in Lancaster as the N-O League's number one seed.
     
    Mike Maines and Vinny Rinaldo remain undefeated at first doubles. In fact, they have not lost a single set this season. Alex Duffy won a strong match at 6-3, 6-1 while Dereck Fuerch and Tommy Budde pulled out a close 3 set match. Kesley Alvarez and Garret Fuerch fought hard in a tough doubles loss while Emily Klatt and Liz Tillman played well in exhibition.
