Fuerch Knocks Off Previously Unbeaten Opponent
May 7, 2011WILSON -- Barker Tennis lost a close match to Wilson on Saturday, 3.5 to 2. Alex Niethe and Matt Hurtgam won in straight sets at first doubles. Taylor Gallo and Peter Cantella went to a close first set tiebreaker at third doubles. The highlight of the match was Derek Fuerch’s come from behind victory in three sets over an opponent who had been undefeated. Fuerch played hard and adjusted his game to win decisively in the last several games played.
The team will compete on Monday at home against Akron. The hope to avenge an early season loss to the Tigers.
