Comments from the coaches:
“The
Barker field hockey program looks forward to a bright college career for
Melissa Grosshans at St. Lawrence University. Melissa takes to the Saints her
winning attitude, remarkable work ethic and her mentality of playing low and
with her head up. She has a great knowledge of the game and is a determined and
committed player to be successful. She’s a player who makes herself and her
teammates better in practice and in the offseason. Her contributions to
Barker’s success are immeasurable. She has been an exceptional student-athlete
and will be a great addition to the St. Lawrence field hockey program and to
the university.”
-Jeff Costello, Barker Field Hockey Coach
“We are very excited that
Melissa has chosen St. Lawrence. We feel she is a terrific fit both
academically and athletically. She’s going to offer a lot to our field hockey
program. We really like the way she moves on the field. She’s a really gutsy
player and a she’s a really good team player. She has great field vision. So
we’re very excited about that. On top of that she’s a tremendous person. Her
personality fit extremely really well with our team when she visited. As a
student-athlete she really represents and we feel will represent St. Lawrence
very well on both on the academic side and the athletic side.”
