Monaco Leads Lady Raiders With 12 Points

December 5, 2022

MIDDLEPORT -- Monday night, the Girls Modified Basketball team played to an overtime tie at Roy-Hart. Elise Monaco had 12 points and Madyson Flint added 6 of her own. Alina Riches, Iliana Manning, and Fiona Wass were great underneath the hoop and had a combined 7 points.

Lillyana Reyes had a great overtime basket and Lexi Brazzell, Addisyn Weller, and Arianna Sturtevant all had fantastic games on defense.

Barker takes on a tough Akron team at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, December 6th at home.

 

Flint Pours In 18 Points 

December 3, 2022

NEWFANE -- On Saturday, the Girls Modified Basketball team defeated Newfane 41-12.  Maddie Flint had 18 points, Elise Monaco 9, Valette Jary 6, and Bella Gatto, Iliana Manning, and Alina Riches had a combined 8 points.

Xyon Weese, Cheyanne Rouse and Brisset Lopez Paz all had great efforts defensively.

 

Sturtevant Nets 12 In 1st Quarter

BARKER -- The Girls Modified Basketball had a good team win against Akron on Thursday.  The final score was 38-11. Arianna Sturtevant led the offense with 12 points in the first quarter.  Elise Monoco added 16 points of her own, Alina Riches had 4 points, and Cheyanne Rouse had 4 points. 

The Raiders got strong defensive performances by Lexi Brazzell, Lillyana Reyes, Addyson Weller, and Villette Jary. 

Rouse Takes Game High Honors With 12 Points

MIDDLEPORT -- The Girls Modified Basketball team completed their season Monday night on a winning note by defeating the Lady Rams of Roy-Hart, 29-21. It was an exciting game that ended with a buzzer beating 3-pointer by Missy Outten. Playing great offensively and defensively, Cheyanne Rouse took scoring honors with 12 points. Also having an all-around good game was Hailey Dodge with many steals and 6 points. In addition to her 3 pointer, Outten added on another 2 with a steal and a lay-up. Sara Meza Ray came up with some nice rebounds and put them back in for a total of 4 points. Sophia Gerhardt chipped in with 2 points as Mallary Fiacco, Faith Bowerman, and Brooke Dunkelberger all played good defense.

 

Potter Nets 4 While Bowerman Turns In Good Defensive Performance

AKRON -- Monday, the Modified Girls Basketball team traveled to Akron to take on the Lady Tigers.  Akron came out strong and defeated the Lady Raiders.  Getting back in their groove, good defense was played by Hailey Dodge, Mallary Fiacco and Faith Bowerman.

Cherish Potter, Dodge, and Fiacco each scored 4 points with Cheyanne Rouse and Brooke Dunkelberger chipping in 2.

 

Outten & Fiacco Register First Points of Season

BARKER -- After a long break, the Modified Girls Basketball team came back strong, but fell one-point short losing to Medina on Saturday. Running the point for entire game, Hailey Dodge was a force on defense with many steals. Dodge and Fallyn Mescall led the team in scoring with 6 points apiece. Missy Outten and Mallary Fiacco joined in the scoring column for the first time this season chipping in 2 points each. Villette Jary also had 2 and Brooke Dunkelberger banked one in from the foul line.

 

Mescall Drops In 10 Points In Victory Over Albion

November 16, 2021

BARKER -- Tuesday the Modified Girls Basketball team celebrated their first win of the season in dominate fashion over the visiting Albion Purple Eagles.

Fallyn Mescall took top scoring honors with 10 points while Kaylee Stoll, Cheyanne Rouse, and Hailey Dodge followed closely with 8 a piece. Also scoring for the Lady Raiders were Sophia Gerhardt, Faith Bowerman, Villette Jary, and Brooke Dunkelberger.

The Lady Raiders are improving defensively and in rebounding. There was nice play by all the girls. The next game is at Newfane on Monday, November 22nd.

 

Gerhardt, Rouse, & Manning On Scoresheet At Medina

MEDINA -- On Friday night the Modified Girls Basketball team traveled to Medina and played a great game. The ladies lost a close game, 23-17. Fallyn Mescall led the team on offense with 10 points. Sophia Gerhardt, Cheyanne Rouse, and Iliana Manning each added 2 points and Kaylee Stoll had one.

The next game is on Tuesday at home against Albion. 

 

Stoll Paces Modified Girls Basketball Team With 8 Points

November 10, 2021

BARKER -- On Wednesday night the Girls Modified Basketball team had their first game of the season at home against Akron. The ladies played a great game, but came up short. Kaylee Stoll led the team on offense with 8 points.  Villette Jary and Fallyn Mescall both had 4 points each. Sara Meza Ray, Hailey Dodge, Cheyanne Rouse, Brooke Dunkelberger, and Iliana Manning each added 2 points, and Erin Smith had 1.

The team will travel to Medina on Friday for their next game. 

  

Greene's 10 Points Leads Barker To Win Over Albion 

December 16, 2019

BARKER -- The Modified Girls Basketball team took charge on Monday by dominating Albion 21-4. Having a great game and leading all scorers was Michayla Greene with 10 points.  Rachel Sutter added 4 points with Lillia Peace, Cole Carnes, Peyton Brandt each tossing in 2 each and Jackie Sanchez scoring one at the free throw line.

Peace played a great game by controlling the boards and playing terrific defense.

In the B game, Ayame Crenshaw and Brandt each had a basket. Payton Hadsell played well at the point.

The girls will finish their season on Thursday afternoon at Newfane.

 

Much Improved Modified Girls Basketball Team Falls Short Against Lakewomen 

December 12, 2019

BARKER -- The Modified Girls Basketball team played another improved game against visiting Wilson, but came up short losing 30-20. Rachel Sutter led the team in scoring with 7, Keira Dalton added 5 points and Lillia Peace, Cole Carnes, Petra Bish and Molly Westlake all had 2.

Dalton, Westlake, Sutter and Peace all did a great job rebounding. Michayla Greene and Bish played tremendous defense.

The girls only have 2 games remaining: home on Monday versus Albion and then the team will finish the season on Thursday at Newfane.

 

Brandt One Of Three To Lead Team Against Roy-Hart 

December 11, 2019

BARKER -- On Wednesday, the Modified Girls’ Basketball team picked up another win after defeating Roy-Hart 18-9. The girls passed the ball well and found open players. Three Lady Raiders led the team with 4 points: Payton Brandt, Rachel Sutter and Keira Dalton. Cole Carnes, Chloe Crafts and Petra Bish each chipped in with 2.

Lillia Peace and Michayla Greene both played good, aggressive defense.  Molly Westlake and Dalton did a nice job rebounding on the boards.

The next game is Thursday at home against Wilson at 4:30 PM.

 

Carnes & Sanchez Chip In At Medina 

December 7, 2019

MEDINA -- The Modified Girls Basketball team lost another close one on Saturday at Medina. The score was tied with a minute to go and Medina was able to score on a break away.  Barker continues to improve as the season moves on. Keira Dalton led the team in scoring with 6 points. Dalton also did a great job rebounding. Lillia Peace added 3 points while Cole Carnes and Jackie Sanchez chipped in with 2 apiece and Rachel Sutter scored from the charity stripe.

Petra Bish and Michayla Greene played good defense.

The girls will have 3 home games this week starting with Akron on Monday night afternoon at 4:30. 

 

Bish Scores 4 At Roy-Hart

December 5, 2019

MIDDLEPORT -- The Modified Girls Basketball team came home victorious after traveling to Roy-Hart on Thursday. The Lady Raiders won 16-13. The girls demonstrated great improvement on defense as well as on offense. The team had balanced scoring with Michayla Greene, Keira Dalton and Petra Bish all netting 4 points while Molly Westlake and Payton Brandt both chipped in with 2.

Lillia Peace, Cole Carnes and Jackie Sanchez were all strong on defense with Dalton and Westlake handling the boards.

The girls’ next game is Saturday in Medina at 10:00 AM.

 

Greene Scores 4 Points Against Newfane

December 2, 2019

BARKER -- Monday night the Modified Girls Basketball team took on Newfane and suffered a 2 point loss. Keira Dalton again led the team by scoring 7 points. Michayla Greene and Rachel Sutter each had 4 and Cole Carnes added 2.

Jackie Sanchez, Peyton Brandt, Lillia Peace and Petra Bish all played good defense.

The girls travel to Roy-Hart on Thursday for a 4:00 PM start against the Rams.

 

Dalton Leads Way For Barker

ALBION -- The Modified Girls Basketball team suffered a 3 point loss to the Albion Purple Eagles on Tuesday. Keira Dalton led the team in scoring with 6 points while Michayla Greene had 5. Cole Carnes added 4 while Molly Westlake and Rachel Samson each chipped in with 2.

In the B game, Rachel Sutter netted 4, Jackie Sanchez had 2, Daniela Salazar chipped in with 2 and Payton Hadsell also added 2.

 

Sutter Leads Way For Mod Girls Hoops

BARKER -- The Modified Girls Basketball team started the season off Monday with a close game at home against Medina, losing 21-17.  Rachel Sutter led the team in scoring with 8 points, Cole Carnes, Rachel Samson, Chloe Crafts and Peyton Brandt all added 2 and Kiera Dalton added 1.

Dalton, Sutter, Payton Hadsell and Brandt all played good defense.

The girls travel to Akron on Thursday.

 

Bowerman & Szafranski Run Point Well In Victory Over Newfane

December 19, 2018

BARKER -- The Modified Girls' Basketball team had another exciting game in their last home game on Wednesday afternoon. The girls came out victorious over visiting Newfane with a score of 16-12. Daynah Woods took top scoring honors with 10 points and Keira Dalton poured in 6. Both Woods and Dalton were awesome on boards grabbing rebounds as well.

Anna Bowerman and Addison Szafranski did a good job bringing up the ball. Playing aggressive defense were Ashlin Cole, Michayla Greene and Cole Carnes. It was a terrific team effort.

The girls will travel to Roy-Hart Friday for their last game of the season.

 

Dalton Nets 4 At Albion

December 17, 2018

ALBION -- The Modified Girls’ Basketball team came up short on Monday night in their game against the Purple Eagles, but outscored Albion 10–2 in the 4th quarter. Scoring for Barker was Keira Dalton and Rachel Sutter each with 4 points, Anna Bowerman with 3 points and Addison Szafranski with 2.

The girls’ last home game is Wednesday, December 19th against Newfane at 4:30 PM in the high school gym.

 

Sutter Leads Team With 8 Points At Akron

AKRON -- The Modified Girls Basketball team came away with a win and a loss on Monday, December 10th at Akron. Scoring for Barker was Rachel Sutter with 8 points and Addison Szafranski with 3 points. Michayla Greene, Alexa Zglinicki, and Anna Bowerman all added 2 points.

 

Woods Chips In With Team High 6 Points

BARKER -- The Modified Girls’ Basketball team had another exciting game on Thursday night, but fell short when the Medina Mustangs scored at the buzzer. Cole Carnes, Addison Szafranski and Ashlin Cole all played an excellent defensive game with Szafranski scoring 3 points and Cole 2 points. Daynah Woods led the team in scoring with 6 points. Keira Dalton, Rachel Sutter and Lillia Peace all rebounded well. Peace and Dalton each scored 2 points. Anna Bowerman played well chipping in with 2 points.

 

Mod Girls Win OT Thriller Over Rams 

December 3, 2018

BARKER -- The Modified Girls' Basketball team took the Roy-Hart Lady Rams into an overtime thriller on Monday night and came away with a 20-18 victory. Addison Szafranski was the leader on the floor running the offense and playing aggressive defense. Aggressive defense by Keira Dalton also played a factor and she scored 4 points.

Leading the team offensively and also playing great defense was Ashlin Cole putting in 6 points. Lillia Peace came off the bench wanting the ball and added 4 points. Cole Carnes, Anna Bowerman, and Daynah Woods also contributed defensively and chipped in 2 points apiece. It was a great team effort to put a dub in the books.

 
Modified Girls Basketball Team Closes Out Season With Big Victory Over Newfane

BARKER -- The Modified Girls Basketball Team completed the 2017 season on Friday with a commanding victory over Newfane. Alyssa Thompson kept Newfane's best scorer off the scoresheet by not allowing her to score. Meanwhile Thompson netted 12 points of her own. Mia Herman did a great job leading the team on offense with assists and also scored 12 points. Cloey Sanders showed her quickness getting up and down the floor and scored 6 points. Hannah Fiacco did a good job on the boards and chipped in 2 points. Excellent defense was played by all players in a great team win.

 

Woods Plays Good D Versus Wilson

December 20, 2017

BARKER -- In a hard fought battle on Wednesday, the Modified Girls Basketball team came up just short falling to visiting Wilson by a score of 23-22. Mia Herman and Alyssa Thompson both had 8 points to lead the team in scoring. Cloey Sanders was aggressive and came up with 6 points. Hannah Fiacco and Daynah Woods played good defense as well as Ashlin Cole making her presence known when on the court.

The Modified Basketball Lady Raiders complete their season at home on Friday against Newfane.

 

Fiacco & Parfinski Net Points In Win Over Akron

December 18, 2017

BARKER -- The Modified Lady Raiders played a great game on Monday night en route to defeating visiting Akron 24-16. All the girls played great defense and played as a team offensively. Alyssa Thompson led in scoring with 12 points. Mia Herman took charge on the floor and added 6 points. Hannah Fiacco did a great job on the boards and chipped in with 2 points. Cloey Sanders played good defense and also chipped in with 2 points. Trinity Parfinski showed us all how to sink 2 at the line.

 

Sanders Helps Offensively & Team Plays Better Defense

December 13, 2017

MIDDLEPORT -- A much improved game was played by the Modified Girls Basketball team as they traveled to Roy-Hart and defeated the Rams, 24-10. All the girls played a better game defensively. Mia Herman led the Lady Raiders with 14 points. Alyssa Thompson added 8 and Cloey Sanders chipped in with 2.

The girls have a 3-game homestand next Monday, Wednesday, Friday to close out their season. All remaining games should be very competitive.

 

Thompson Nets 7 Against Albion

December 8, 2017

BARKER -- The Modified Girls Basketball team played a good game on Friday against the visiting Purple Eagles of Albion. The girls showed tremendous improvement despite the loss. Alyssa Thompson led the scoring with 7 points. Mia Herman and Cloey Sanders both added 4 points each and Trinity Parfinski chipped in with 2.

The girls play at home again on Monday against the Medina Mustangs in the elementary gym starting at 4:30 PM.

 

Herman Leads Mods With 10 Points

November 17 & 18

ALBION & BARKER -- The Girls Modified Basketball team had their debut game against Albion on Friday which resulted in a loss. The girls did, however, recover nicely in a great team win against Roy-Hart on Saturday. Leading the team in scoring was Mia Herman with 10 points while notching quite a few steals. Alyssa Thompson played the entire game adding 9 points. Hannah Fiacco started Barker off right away with a 2 point bank shot and rebounded well throughout the game. Fiacco ended up with 6 points. Chloe Sanders also showed her quickness and defensive tenacity while chipping in 4 points. Trinity Parfinski was tough defensively and netted 2 points. Lizzy Hopkins was the ultimate team player with passing and defense. Sarina Drake and Jordan Thering played with all their might.

It was a very unselfish played game by the team. The girls travel to Medina on Monday for a 4:30 start. 

 
Lee Scores In First Two Modified Girls Basketball Games 
November 23 & 26, 2016
AKRON & MIDDLEPORT -- The Modified Girls Basketball team opened the season over the Thanksgiving breaking by coming up short to both Akron and Roy-Hart. Scoring for Barker at Akron were Chloe Lee and Megan Fragale with 4 points each. Also adding points were Kate Babcock, Chloe Sanders and Grace Taylor.
 
At Roy-Hart, Ellie Voss and Lee both netted 4 points while Babcock, Sanders, Fragale and Lily Check all chipped in with 2.
 
The team will host Wilson at 5:00 PM in the high school gym on Monday, November 28th.
