Post Season Honors For 3 Varsity Basketball Players

BARKER -- Gabby Baker, Haley Brown, and Kylie Miller were chosen to the Niagara-Orleans All-League Honorable Mention Girls Basketball team. Additionally, Senior Haley Brown has been invited to play in the Exceptional Senior game this Friday night, March 9th at 5:00 at Albion High School.
Trio Nets 4 Points Each In Win Over Holley

BARKER -- The Lady Raiders Varsity Basketball team made it 3 wins in a row, with a 27-21 victory over Holley on Tuesday night. Leading the way for Barker was Serena Harris with 12 points. Haley Brown, Sarah Mason, and Kylie Miller all chipped in with 4 points each.
Haley Brown also grabbed 9 rebounds in the win.
The team will play at home next Tuesday, January 30th versus Akron.
Harris Drains Go Ahead 3-Pointer For Win Over Rams

BARKER -- The Lady Raiders Varsity Basketball team made it two in a row with a hard fought win over Roy-Hart at home Friday night. Serena Harris hit a go-ahead 3 pointer with less than a minute remaining to preserve the 45-43 victory. Gabby Baker led the way with 15 points, while Harris and Haley Brown chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively. Kylie Miller hauled down 7 rebounds.
The Lady Raiders take on Holley at home on Tuesday night.
Lady Raiders Have Balanced Scoring Attack At Medina

MEDINA -- The Lady Raiders Basketball team picked up their first league win on Tuesday night in Medina. Serena Harris led a balanced scoring attack with 9 points. Gabby Baker and Haley Brown chipped in with 8 and 7 points respectively. Haley Brown and Sarah Mason both hauled down 7 rebounds. The Lady Raiders are home Friday night versus Roy-Hart.
Brown Nets 14 In Tough Loss At Kendall

KENDALL -- The Lady Raiders basketball team dropped a tough loss at Kendall Tuesday night, 37-32. After a slow start, the Barker outscored Kendall 24-14 in the second half. Leading the way for the Lady Raiders was Haley Brown with 14 points, while Sydnie Luckman chipped in with 7 points.
The team is now 2-1 overall and will host Lyndonville on Friday night.
Varsity Girls Basketball Wins Opener At Lyndonville

LYNDONVILLE -- The Varsity Lady Raiders Basketball team opened their season on Wednesday night with a 31-27 come from behind win over Lyndonville. Barker outscored the Lady Tigers 23-17 in the second half to secure the victory. Leading the way for the Lady Raiders were Gabby Baker and Sydnie Luckman with 8 points each. Serena Harris and Haley Brown chipped in with 5 points and 3 points, respectively.
Plenty Of Defense For Lady Raiders
MEDINA -- Makenzi Strickland and Kayla Moeller closed out their high school basketball careers on Friday night as they represented Barker and the Niagara-Orleans League on Friday in the N-O/G-R Execptional Senior Game in Medina. The N-O team came away with a 55-43 victory over the Genesee-Region team by outscoring the visitors 33-20 in the second half. Moeller netted 4 points for the home team.
Sydney Webb, Kayla Moeller and Makenzi Strickland have all been selected to play in the Exceptional Senior Game which consists of players from the Niagara-Orleans League who will play at Medina High School on Friday, March 8 at 5:00 against of team of seniors from the Genesee Region League.
The following Varsity Girls Basketball players were members of the Scholar Athlete Team: Kayla Moeller, Sydney Webb, Makenzi Strickland, Julia Atwater, Brooke Bodine, Olivia Denny, Gabby Clare and Maicie Baker.
The team finishes Niagara-Orleans League play with a 4-10 record and are now 6-12 overall.
Barker will travel to St. Mary's School for the Deaf on Saturday, February 23 for a 2:00 contest against Tapestry Charter in the Section VI Class C Quarter Finals.
Forwards Sydney Webb and Julia Atwater contributed 6 and 5 points respectively.
The team will host Medina on Friday night which is also Senior Night as the girls’ basketball program will recognize Sydney Webb, Makenzi Strickland and Kayla Moeller. Senior night festivities begin approximately 6:15 after the JV game is over. Barker is now 4-7 in league play and 6-9 overall.
Lady Raiders Hang With Wilson In First
The team will host CSAT on Tuesday. Barker is now 3-7 in the league and 5-9 overall.
The team is now 3-6 in the N-O League and 5-8 overall and will travel on Thursday to play at Wilson. Game time is approximately 6:30 following the JV game. All those who plan to attend the game are asked to bring two nonperishable items to donate to support the Wilson White Out For Hunger event. Spectators who do so will be admitted free to the game.
The team is now 2-3 in the N-O League and 4-5 overall. Barker will host Roy-Hart on Friday.
The team is now 2-2 in league play and 4-4 overall and will travel to Medina on Tuesday for the next game.
AKRON -- On Friday night the Varsity Girls Basketball team evened its league record at 1-1 and overall record at 3-3 with a 26-21 victory at Akron. The team got off to a great start and played a solid game defensively. Caitlyn Mason led the team in scoring with 8 points. Makenzi Strickland chipped in with 5 points and 8 boards.
The next game will be on Tuesday when the girls host Wilson at 6:30.
The team is now 0-1 in the league and 2-3 overall. The next game is on Friday, January 4 when the team takes to the road for the fifth time in six games. Akron will host the Lady Raiders for a 6:30 tip-off.

KENDALL -- The Varsity Girls Basketball team improved to 2-1 overall on Wednesday night with a 26-25 victory at Kendall. Olivia Denny's two free throws late in the fourth quarter were the difference for the Lady Raiders. Denny scored a game high 12 points while the team played well defensively to keep the score low. Julia Atwater and Makenzi Strickland had 12 and 6 rebounds respectively.
Barker will host Tonawanda on Tuesday in its final nonleague contest. JV start time is 5:00 pm with Varsity to follow.
The team is now 0-1 and will travel to Lyndonville on Thursday for the next game.
Eliza Dewart was selected as an All Western New York Scholar Athlete.
On Tuesday at Roy-Hart, Estep led the team with 12 points while Julia Atwater and Denny each scored six. Kayla Moeller, Makenzi Strickland and Heather Mason have all played well down the stretch and will be counted on heavily in sectionals.
The team will play at 2:00 on Saturday, February 25 in sectionals at a location to be announced on Saturday. The team finished the regular season with a 3-11 record in the Niagara Orleans League and 5-13 overall.
BUFFALO -- On Tuesday night the Varsity Girls Basketball team picked up a 44-31 victory at CSAT. Leading the way for Barker was Daniela Senior with 12 points while Makenzi Strickland added 9. Brooke Bodine picked up her first Varsity points as she netted 4. All players cracked the scoring column as everyone contributed to the win in a positive way.
The team is now 3-6 in the league and 5-8 overall and will host Medina on Thursday at 6:30.
The next game will be on Tuesday at CSAT at 6:30. The girls now have a 2-6 league record and are now 4-8 overall.
Barker is now 2-3 in the league and 4-5 overall. The girls will be home again on Friday when they host Roy-Hart. The JV game starts at 5:00 with Varsity to follow.
Barker will travel to Newfane on Friday for a 6:30 game. The team dropped to 1-2 in the league and 3-4 overall.
Barker was up 13-1 at the end of the first quarter as they played impressive defense and were able to transition well to score off the fast break. Estep and Strickland both had their best overall games of the season which provided a much needed spark for the team after they struggled on Tuesday night in Wilson.
The team is now 1-1 in the league and 3-3 overall and will travel to Medina on Tuesday.
