The 38th Storrs All High Art Show at the Kenan Center Gallery in Lockport featured work by students from 28 high schools from across Western New York. Rebecca Thering was awarded Best Color Photography with her photo “Pink Skies” and Kaya Lloyd received Honorable Mention for her photo “Falling.”

“Pink Skies”
Photography - A beautiful sunrise on an early morning in late August. This photo was taken on a very fun trip to Algonquin, Canada. The sky was a pretty mix of different shades of pinks and a little bit of orange and blue. The reflection in the water and the water on the canoes remind me of this trip the most because we spent so much time during our trip on the water.

“Falling”
Photography - With this photo I was able to capture the beauty of so many things almost accidentally. I originally wanted a simple photo of the waterfall when I noticed the swimming birds and decided to feature those too. After taking the photo, I realized that the trees and bushes surrounding the water created a sort of frame, and I think this really showcases the unnoticed and unintentional beauty of many things in nature.
