Jr. High Student Council Spring Activities

March Madness1This year, with the long stretch from February to spring break, in addition to their annual spring dance, the Jr. High Student Council hosted a March Madness Spirit Tournament. All 7th and 8th grade students were randomly split into four teams from which they participated in a series of weekly mental, physical and artistic challenges during 10th period: Art Day (3/4), Challenge Day (3/11), Trivia/Knowledge Day (3/18) and the dance (3/21). Total points were tallied and combined with points earned at the dance to determine a winning team. This year the green team won, earning various treats and snacks for their victory. All in all, about 25% of our 7th and 8th grade students participate in the after-school activities. The Jr. High Student Council was very happy with the pilot year of the Spirit Tournament and hopes to make it bigger and better next year.

Prior to spring break, the Jr. High Student Council hosted the annual egg hunt for students in PreK and Kindergarten. Each student participant was able to find multiple eggs and win prizes.
