Four Barker Bulldogs student-athletes have been recognized with distinguished end-of-year athletic recognition.

Owen Harris and Shelby Dauphinee have received the BCS male and female athlete of the year awards. The top male and female athletes in the senior class are voted on by the Barker Coaching Staff. Three-sport participation and All-League, Section, and State recognition are weighted heavily. Each recipient received a $100 scholarship donated by the Barker Lion’s Club. On Monday, June 2nd, at the Barker Jr.-Sr. High School Honors & Awards ceremony, Mr. James Bittner, treasurer of the Lion’s Club, presented scholarships to Shelby Dauphinee and Owen Harris. 

The Niagara-Orleans Athletic Directors recognize the league’s top student-athletes. Winners are determined by the following criteria: academic achievement, multiple sport participation, leadership, character, and community service. Seniors Michael Kalynycz and Mikala Woock both received Honorable Mention Scholar-Athlete. Each student received a $100 check from the Niagara-Orleans League for the Dick Diminuco Scholarship.
