Junior High Students Selected to Chorus Groups

Three Barker students were selected to perform in the Jr. High Area All-State Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, November 7^th and 8^th at Pioneer Central School. Ariane Watts was selected for the Mixed Chorus and Kasey Thering and Jasmine Peggs were selected for the Treble Chorus.

Five Barker students were selected to perform in the Sr. High Area All-State Music Festival on Friday and Saturday, November 21^st and 22^nd at SUNY Fredonia. Naomi Bish was selected for the Mixed Chorus, Ava Kelemen, Julia Kalynycz and Jocelyn Schmitt were selected for the Treble Chorus and Riley Marciszewski playing baritone horn was selected for the Concert Band.

On December 13^th, 15 elementary band students, 11 Jr-Sr. High band students, and 16 Jr.-Sr. High chorus students traveled to Lockport High school to perform in the Niagara County Music Educators Association Solo Festival in hopes of earning a spot in one of the 2026 All-County ensembles.

Solos performed were ranked Level 1 (easy) to Level 6 (most difficult). A 100% is a perfect score. The results for the Jr.-Sr. High were:

• Atticus Janese (7th Grade): Clarinet, Level 3 - 91%
• Breelynn Keiffer(7th Grade): Clarinet, Level 3 - 91%
• Cerenity Street (7th Grade): Clarinet, Level 3 - 94%
• Diarra Taliaferro (Freshman): Trumpet, Level 4 - 97%
• Ivy Feuersanger (Sophomore): Flute, Level 6 - 89%
• Addisyn Weller (Sophomore): Clarinet, Level 6 - 97%
• Karl Hill-Baritone (Sophomore): Saxophone, Level 6 - 93%
• Riley Marciszewski (Junior): French Horn, Level 6 - 100%
• Melodi Murphy (Junior): Alto Saxophone, Level 6 - 92%
