Director of Instructional Services/Special Education - Letter to Community

 

Dear Barker Families,

I am honored to introduce myself as the new Director of Instructional Services/Special Education for the District. It is a privilege to join a community so committed to supporting every learner-and I’m already impressed by the teamwork and dedication I’ve seen from our administration and staff across the District. I’ve been making my way through classrooms and connecting with students at their off-site programs, and I’ve even squeezed in some time to cheer on our wrestling and basketball teams.

With a background in special education, and a passion for building collaborative, student-centered programs, I’m excited to partner with our families, educators and community members. My goal is to support the inclusive practices that help all of our students grow and to contribute to a learning environment where every child feels valued and understood.

In the months ahead, I look forward to listening, learning, and working closely with our school teams. My focus will be on building relationships, listening closely to the experiences of students and families, and supporting our staff. Together, we’ll continue strengthening services, celebrating progress, and navigating the occasional challenges that come our way with patience and teamwork.
