McGovern Advances To Day 2 Of State Qualifiers
February 12, 2026
AMHERST -- The Barker/Roy-Hart girls wrestlers traveled to Sweet Home on Thursday night to wrestle in the Section VI State Qualifier Tournament to determine the top 8 wrestlers in the Section. Top 12 finishes included Shianne Barnes, Jordyn Kinne, Isabella Gatto, and Clementine Rokitka.
Wrestlers in the top 8 and advancing to the second day of qualifying were Trinity McGovern and Norah Klug. The two will wrestle on Sunday at Fredonia State College to fight for a spot in the New York State Tournament.
Girls Wrestlers Complete Undefeated Regular Dual Season
February 2 & 3, 2026
AMHERST & BARKER -- The Varsity Girls Wrestlers competed on back-to-back days Monday and Tuesday. On Monday night against the number eight ranked team in Section VI, the team defeated Sweet Home/Amherst by a score of 34-24.
On Tuesday against Medina, Roy-Hart/Barker defeated the Mustangs by a score of 45-5.
Picking up wins were Trinity McGovern, Carrie Thuman, Calli Van Dorn, Shianne Barnes, Noralie Pierce, Villette Jary, Norah Klug, Leah Torriere, Clementine Rokitka, and Bella Gatto.
Roy-Hart/Barker will ended the regular season with an undefeated dual record of 4-0.

CHEEKTOWAGA -- On Wednesday night in the final regular season match of the year, the Varsity Wrestling team defeated Maryvale, 48-26. Bulldogs winning by pin were Kolt Wilson, Billy Jaques, Luke Fay and Aaden Munn.
All Wrestling Teams In Action Over the Weekend

YOUNGSTOWN/NEWFANE/FRANKLINVILLE - All of the Barker/Roy-Hart Wrestling teams had competitions over the weekend. The Varsity Boys traveled to Lew-Port for their team tournament and took home the 2nd place trophy. Luke Fay and Max Liuzzi both went 5-1 for the best individual records on the team.
The JV Boys traveled to Newfane for their JV tournament and had a great showing. William Jaques, took 1st place in his weight class.
The Girls team traveled to Franklinville and had a great showing as well, bringing home a 3rd place overall team score. Individually, Isabella Gatto and Noralie Pierce were both 4th in their weight class. 3rd place finishes were Trinity McGovern, Villette Jary, and Jordyn Kinne.
Liuzzi And Rusnock Victorious At Wilson

WILSON -- The Barker/Roy-Hart Wrestlers traveled to Wilson on Wednesday night and had a great performance. The Boys team walked away with a score of 52-23. Wins for the boys were recorded by Max Liuzzi and Aideen Rusnock.
The Girls Wrestlers also had a dual against Wilson and had a victory as well with a score of 43-10. Recording wins for the girls were Maylee Snyder, Villette Jary, Jordyn Kinne and Isabella Gatto.
Fay Records 100th Win Of Career

MIDDLEPORT -- Although the team didn't win the meet against Newfane on Wednesday night, senior Luke Fay recorded his 100th career win. This is an amazing accomplishment and well deserved.
Brazzell & Pierce Win Matches Against Franklinville

BARKER -- The Barker/Roy-Hart Wrestling teams took on Franklinville on Tuesday night and had success with wins on both the Girls and Boys teams. The Girls team won with a 39-10 score with wins by Jordyn Kinne, Lexi Brazzell, Bella Gatto, and Noralie Pierce.
The boys also won with a team score of 61-11 with wins by Max Liuzzi, Aideen Rusnock, Luke Fay, Aaden Munn, and Billy Jaques.
The Boys team takes on Newfane Wednesday night at Roy-Hart and the girls team will host CSAT on Friday night at Barker for the team's first girls only home match.
