Varsity Girls Basketball Selected For Sportsmanship Award

BARKER -- Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Basketball team for receiving the Niagara Orleans League Sportsmanship Award. Members of the team were Jessica Hillman, Larissa St. Louis, Mikayla Jackson, Daniela Senior, Marissa Estep, Allie Denny, Eliza Dewart, Kayla Moeller, Sydney Webb, Makenzi Strickland and Olivia Denny. Olivia Denny was named the individual award winner. Also congratulations to Eliza Dewart for being selected to the All League Second Team. Olivia Denny was selected for Honorable Mention.

Varsity Girls Basketball Results From Roy-Hart Christmas Tournament

MIDDLEPORT -- Over the break the Varsity Girls Basketball team defeated Lyndonville 31-28 in the semi finals of the Roy-Hart Christmas Tournament. Leading the way for Barker was Eliza Dewart with 11 points. Allie Denny chipped in with 6 in her best performance of the season. In the finals the Lady Raiders dropped a 44-34 decision to Roy-Hart as they struggled to score in the second half. Olivia Denny led the team with 10 points while Mikayla Jackson added 6. Dewart and Olivia Denny were both selected to the All Tournament Team. Barker is 1-1 in the N-O League and 4-2 overall and will host Medina on Tuesday. Modified begins at 4:00 followed by JV at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:00.
