Boys Finish On Top Of N-O League
October 21, 2023
WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Modified Cross Country team competed at the Niagara-Orleans League All-League meet where the boys came away as league champions. Logan Wagner finished 2nd, followed by Matthew Jordan in 4th, Lucas Nestoros was 5th, Grayson Prynn 6th, and Oscar Dergel 9th.
Kira Forehand finished 11th out of 22 runners in the girls race and Xyon Weese finished 13th.
Personal best times were achieved by: Forehand, Weese, Fiona Dalton, Jordan, Prynn, Dergel, and Wyatt Ware.
Modified Cross Country Wins Two At Akron

AKRON -- The Modified Cross Country team traveled to Akron on Wednesday night where they won both of their races against Akron and Roy-Hart. Taking 2nd place was Grayson Prynn. In 3rd was Lucas Nestoros while Matthew Jordan was 5th.
Kira Forehand took 1st for the girls and Xyon Weese finished 2nd.
Prynn, Forehand, and Weese all had personal bests.

MEDINA -- Tuesday, the Modified Cross Country team faced off against Medina and Albion. The boys team won both of their matchups. Finishing in the top 5 for Barker was Logan Wagner, Grayson Prynn, Matthew Jordan, Oscar Dergel, and Eian Phillips.
Finishing first for the Barker girls was Kira Forehand.
Jordan Finishes In Top 100 At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- The Modified Cross Country team competed in the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday. The boys placed 12th out of 38 schools. Finishing in the top 100 was Logan Wagner in 56th, Matthew Jordan 57th, and Lucas Nestoros was 89th.
The entire boys team plus Kira Forehand and Xyon Weese earned personal best times.
Wagner Finishes 1st Against Newfane

BARKER -- Tuesday, the Boys’ Modified Cross Country team won their meet against Newfane by taking the top 5 places. Finishing 1st was Logan Wagner. Lucas Nestoros was 2nd, Matthew Jordan 3rd, Grayson Prynn 4th, and Oscar Dergel was 5th.
Taking 3rd place for the girls was Olivia Voss while Kira Forehand was 5th.
The following earned a personal best time: Wagner, Nestoros, Jordan, Prynn, Dergel, Brad Maines, Wyatt Ware, Voss, Forehand.
Mod Cross Country Team Opens Season With Wins Over Wilson

BARKER -- The Modified Cross Country team had their first meet on Tuesday night, against Wilson. The boys and girls teams each came away with a win. Finishing 1st for the boys was Logan Wagner. Matthew Jordan took 3rd place, in 4th was Lucas Nestoros, and rounding out the top 5 was Grayson Prynn.
For the girls, Xyon Weese finished 1st. Kira Foreland took 3rd, Olivia Voss finished 4th, and Fiona Dalton took 5th place.
The following runners earned a personal best: Wagner, Jordan, Nestoros, Logan Puchlerz, Brad Maines, Eian Phillips, Weese, Foreland, Voss, and Dalton.
Strong Grabs 2nd Place At N-O All League Meet

WATERPORT -- On Saturday, the Modified Cross Country team traveled to Lakeside Beach State Park to participate in the Niagara-Orleans League Meet. The boys came in 1st place to become league champions. Anthony Taliaferro finished as the #1 runner in the league. Lucas Nesteros finished 3rd, Ethan Gancasz was 5th, followed by Grayson Prynn in 6th, and Drew LaGreca in 9th.
For the girls, Mirabelle Strong finished 2nd in the league and Melodi Murphy was 10th.
The following students earned a personal best time: Taliaferro, Nesteros, Gancasz, Prynn, Brad Maines, Strong, and Olivia Voss.

MIDDLEPORT -- The Modified Cross Country team traveled to Alden on Saturday for an Invitational meet. The boys team placed 10th out of 19 teams with Anthony Taliaferro finishing 20th out of 184 runners. Grayson Prynn was 69th, Lucas Nesteros 72nd, Ethan Gancasz 94th, and Caden Garcia 97th.
For the girls, Mirabelle Strong placed 78th out of 155 runners. Olivia Voss earned a personal best time.

MIDDLEPORT -- The Boys Modified Cross Country team won both their meets on Tuesday, defeating Roy-Hart and Akron. Anthony Taliaferro took 1st place. Ethan Gancasz 3rd, Grayson Prynn 4th, and Caden Garcia 5th.
For the girls, Mirabelle Strong finished 5th and Melodi Murphy was 6th.

NEWFANE -- The Boys Modified Cross Country team won their meet against Newfane on Tuesday night taking the top 7 spots in the race. Anthony Taliaferro, Caden Garcia, and Lucas Nesteros finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, respectively.
Mirabelle Strong and Melodi Murphy finished 2nd and 3rd for the girls. The following runners achieved a personal best time: Nestoros, Oscar Dergel, Caleb Renko, Brad Maines, and Olivia Voss.

WATERPORT -- The Modified Cross Country team won their meet on Tuesday night against Medina. For the boys Anthony Taliaferro took 1st, Drew LaGreca was 2nd, Ethan Gancasz 3rd, and Grayson Prynn took 5th for the boys.

Barker Boys Run Impressive Race At All League

WATERPORT -- The Modified Cross Country team traveled to Lakeside State Park on Saturday to compete in the Niagara-Orleans All League Meet. Melodi Murphy was Barker’s lone female competitor placing 9th overall.
The boys team won with an impressive 24 points and the Raiders finished 1,2,3. Luke Fay led the way with a 6:11 pace over the 1.8-mile course beating the rest of the field by 1 minute 10 seconds. Anthony Taliaferro and Gabriel Nestoros grabbed the next two spots. Rounding out the scoring were Caden Garcia-7th, Sam Liuzzi-14th, Daniel Goodwin-15th, Matthew Meza Ray-19th, and Riley Marciszewski-21st. Garcia, Goodwin, Meza-Ray, and Marciszewski all had personal best times.
Fay Records Fastest Barker Time At Alden

ALDEN -- The Modified Cross Country team participated in the Alden Invitational on Saturday. Luke Fay placed fourth out of 141 runners as he led the Barker Boys to a fifth place finish out of 15 teams. Fay's time was the fastest time any Barker modified athlete has run that course. Fay was followed by Anthony Talliaferro 34th, Gabe Nestoros 38th, Sam Liuzzi 84th, Caden Garcia 87th, Dan Goodwin 113th, Matthew Meza-Ray 122nd, and Riley Marcizewski 126th.
In the girls race, Melodi Murphy placed 59th out of 89 runners.
The team travels to Roy-Hart on Tuesday.
Murphy Grabs First Place Versus Wilson

BARKER -- The Modified Cross Country team hosted the Wilson Lakemen on Wednesday and dominated the competition. Melodi Murphy received first place for the girls and Luke Fay placed first for the boys. Following Fay were Anthony Taliaferro, Gabe Nestoros, Sam Liuzzi, Caden Garcia, Daniel Goodwin, and Matthew Meza-Ray. Riley Marciezewski dropped 3 minutes from his time from two weeks ago and set a personal best time.
The team will travel to Alden on Saturday to compete in the Alden Bulldog Invitational.
Fay Cracks Top 10 At McQuaid Invitational

ROCHESTER -- The Modified Cross Country team competed at the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday. All 9 runners set personal best times. Melodi Murphy placed 139th out of 216 runners in the Modified Girls race.
294 runners competed in the boys race. Barker finished 7th. Luke Fay led the way placing 9th. Anthony Taliaferro 45th, Gabe Nestoros. 55th, Caden Garcia 129th, Sam Liuzzi 168th, Daniel Goodwin 183rd, Matthew Meza-Ray 220th, Riley Marciszewski 239th.
The team has a home meet Wednesday, October 6th.
Woock & Hauser Lead The Way For Modified Cross Country At All League Meet

WATERPORT -- The Modified Cross Country teams participated in the Niagara-Orleans All League Meet and came home with two team championships and one individual champion to wrap up a very successful season. The girls came away with a 7 point victory by placing all 5 girls in the top 15. They were again led by Mikala Woock’s 2nd place finish. Woock was followed by Kayla Mages in 7th, Rachel Samson - 8th, Lillia Peace - 9th, and Kayleigh Thompson - 13th. Woock, Peace and Thompson all set personal best times.
The boys disposed of the rest of the league with a team score of 23 points, placing 7 in the top 20 and all the boys in the top 25! Jackson Hauser avenged an earlier season loss by running a perfect race to defeat his rival by 15 seconds. Hauser was followed by Owen Harris - 3rd, Tylor White - 4th, Michael Kalynycz - 6th, Isaac Monaco - 9th, Ben Harrod - 13th, Conner Dwyer - 17th, Andreas Nestoros - 23rd, and Owen Donovan - 24th. This makes 3 straight years that a Barker Raider has been the individual champion at the meet. Hauser, Harris, White, Kalynycz, Harrod, Dwyer, and Nestoros all had personal best times.

AKRON -- The Modified Cross Country teams competed at the Clarence Invitational on Saturday and performed very well against several larger schools. The boys came home with the second place team award by running in a tight pack placing 5 boys in the top 20: Jackson Hauser - 5th, Tylor White - 9th, Owen Harris - 10th, Michael Kalyncz - 11th, and Isaac Monaco - 19th. Connor Dwyer, Ben Harrod and Andreas Nestoros also earned ribbons.
The girls also had some fine pack running. Mikala Woock led the ladies by placing 20th. Woock was followed by Rachel Samson - 27th, Kayla Mages - 28th, and Lillia Peace - 39th. All 4 girls earned ribbons. Dwyer & Kalyncz ran personal best times.
7 Best Times As Modified Cross Country Closes Out Regular Season With Double Win

BARKER -- Both of the Barker Modified Ccross Country teams finished the regular season Tuesday with victories against the Roy-Hart Rams on the Raider home course and put on a great show for the spectators. The girls score was 21-34 and the boys score was 20-43. Seven people set personal best times: Jackson Hauser, Owen Harris, Tylor White, Conner Dwyer, Mikala Woock, Rachel Samson, and Lillia Peace.
Woock led the Barker ladies by placing first and was followed by Kayla Mages-3rd, Samson-4th, Peace-6th, and Kayleigh Thompson-7th.
The boys top 7 were: Hauser-2nd, Owen Harris-3rd, Tylor White-4th, Isaac Monaco-5th, Michael Kalynycz-6th, Ben Harrod-7th, and Dwyer-8th.

ALBION -- Barker runners took the top spots in both modified races at Albion on Tuesday and showed that the Barker Raiders are not going to be pushed around by larger schools. The girls lost by just one point, 27-28 as Mikala Woock won the girls race by 20 seconds. Woock was followed by Kayla Mages in 5th, Rachel Samson 6th, Kayleigh Thompson 7th, and Lillia Peace in 9th.
Leading the boys to a 25-32 win, first place runner, Jackson Hauser, was followed by Owen Harris in 2nd, Isaac Monaco was 3rd, Tylor White 7th, and Michael Kalyncz 12th. It was the second time the Raiders swept the top 3 spots in a meet.
Woock, Thompson, Harris, Owen Donovan, Monaco, and Conner Dwyer all had personal best times.
Mod Teams Have Success At Pembroke Invitational
October 5, 2019
PEMBROKE -- The Modified Cross Country teams participated at the Pembroke Invitational on Saturday and tackled a very grueling course. The Boys placed 2nd in a field of 12. Jackson Hauser was 9th, Isaac Monaco 13th, and Owen Harris was 14th. All earned medals for a top 20 finish. Michael Kalynycz was 22nd and Ben Harrod was 42nd to complete the scoring 5. Owen Donavon and Andreas Nestoros also ran well. Kalynycz had a best time.
The ladies placed 4th out of 10 teams. Mikala Woock was 13th to lead the Barker runners. She was followed by Rachel Samson in 21st, Kayla Mages was 23rd, Lillia Peace 28th, and Kayleigh Thompson finished in 31st.
The next meet will be on Tuesday when the Raiders travel to Albion to take on the Purple Eagles and the Akron Tigers.
Monaco & Harris Take 3rd & 4th Against Newfane

BARKER -- The Modified Cross Country teams were able to get their meet in before the storm hit on Tuesday, and they gave the spectators something to cheer about. The boys defeated Newfane 19-44 and the girls competed against an incomplete team. The girls were led by Mikala Woock and Kayla Mages who finished 2nd and 3rd with the same time. They were followed by Rachel Samson-7th, Lillia Peace-8th, and Kayleigh Thompson-9th.
The boys competed as a team, each taking turns pushing the pace and in the end Jackson Hauser finished 1st. Isaac Monaco and Owen Harris followed right behind placing 3rd and 4th. Rounding out Barker’s top 7 was: Michael Kalynycz-5th, Tylor White-6th, Ben Harrod-7th, and Conner Dwyer-8th.
Everyone ran well. Owen Donovan posted a best time.
Hauser Leads Way For Modified Boys Cross Country At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- The Modified Cross Country runners turned in 8 best times at the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday. McQuaid is the largest invitational in the Northeast United states which hosts an eye popping 6,000 runners in 26 different races. The Barker girls were in a race of 314. All 4 Lady Raiders finished within a minute of each other and were led by Mikala Woock and Rachel Samson with the exact same time. Lillia Peace and Kayleigh Thompson completed the team.
The boys competed in the largest race of the day with 393 completing the course. Jackson Hauser and Owen Harris led the Raiders to 12th place in the 37 team field and received ribbons for their efforts. Isaac Monaco, Tylor White, and Mike Kalynycz completed the scoring.
The Raiders compete with Newfane on Tuesday on Barker’s home course. Come out to cheer our runners on. Hauser, Harris, Kalynycz, Connor Dwyer, Andreas Nestoros, Samson, Peace and Thompson all had personal best times.
Woock & Mages Go 1-2 In Race At Wilson

WILSON -- In the first meet of the season, the Boys and Girls Modified Cross Country teams showed that they are ready for a strong season by dominating the Wilson Lakemen. Isaac Monaco, Jackson Hauser, Owen Harris and Tylor White finished 1st through 4th and were separated by just 1 second. Ben Harrod finished 6th to round out the scoring five.
One second separated Mikala Woock and Kayla Mages as they provided a one - two finish in leading the Barker ladies. Rachel Samson, Lillia Peace, and Kayleigh Thompson placed 3rd through 5th to complete a scoring sweep.
It was a great job by all of our runners. The team travels to the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday where they may see more than 500 runners in their races.

5 Mods Place in Top 50 At Clarence Invitational
October 20, 2018
AKRON -- The Modified Cross Country teams traveled to Akron Falls State Park to participate at the Clarence Fall Classic Invitational and they had their best meet of the year. 11 runners had personal best performances and five runners finished in the top 50 earning individual awards. The Barker runners in the top 50 with personal best times were: Dawson Donovan-4th, Nate Hess-5th, Mason Allee-Castro-9th, Tylor White-40th, and Aiden Voss-46th. Other boys setting best times were Alex White, Ben Harrod, Clint Grissett, and Lucas Flegal.
For the ladies, Angelina Delgrolice and Lillia Peace also ran best times.
Boys Take Top 5 Spots In Meet Against Roy-Hart & Medina

BARKER -- The Modified Cross Country teams hosted Roy-Hart and Medina on the Barker home course Tuesday and won the meet in dominating fashion. The boys won 15-48 as they took 10 of the top 11 places. Finishing as the top 7 Barker runners were: Dawson Donovan 1st, Nate Hess 2nd, Mason Allee-Castro 3rd, Aiden Voss 4th, Tylor White 5th, Alex White 7th, and James Mason 8th.
For the Lady Raiders Angeline Delgrolice placed 3rd and Lillia Peace was 4th. It was a great way to end the regular season.
Voss, White & Harrod Finish In Top 25 At Pembroke Invitational

PEMBROKE -- The Modified Cross Country team competed at the Pembroke Invitational on Saturday and were awesome. The Barker Boys placed first and grabbed 3 of 4 top places and had 6 finish in the top 25 to receive individual awards. Dawson Donovan and Mason Allee-Castro finished 1-2 and were followed closely by Nate Hess in 4th. Rounding out the Raiders other top 25 award winners were Aiden Voss-19th, Tylor White-20th, and Ben Harrod-22nd.
In the girls race, Lillia Peace ran a personal best time placing 10th overall to bring home a medal. It was a great race by everyone and all can be proud of the efforts.
Delgrolice & Peace Grab Top 2 Spots Against Wilson

BARKER -- The Modified Cross Country teams took on Wilson at home on Tuesday and defeated the Lakemen 19-38. Leading a 1, 2, 3 charge were Dawson Donovan, Nate Hess, and Mason Alee-Castro. Mod Boys Go 1-2-3 At Newfane

NEWFANE -- The Modified Cross Country teams travelled to Newfane to take on the Panthers on a sloppy 1.5 mile course. The boys won 17-44 as Dawson Donovan, Nate Hess, and Mason Allee-Castro took the top three spots. Rounding out Barker's top seven were Aidan Voss (5th), Alex White (6th), Tylor White (8th) and J.P. Mason (9th). Personal best times were set by Hess, Voss, White, J.P. Mason, Levi Hauser, Luke DerSarkissian, and Lillia Peace.
Donovan Breaks Top 25 At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- The Modified Cross Country teams participated at the McQuaid Invitational and turned in impressive performances as 7 Raiders ran personal best times in races with hundreds of runners competing. The boys’ team placed 8th in a field of 44 teams consisting of 450 athletes. Receiving medals for top 50 were: Dawson Donovan in 24th, Mason Allee-Castro in 44th, and Nate Hess 49th.
Hess & Allee-Castro Bring 1-2 Punch In Race At Akron

AKRON -- On Tuesday the Modified Cross Country teams competed in their first meet of the season by taking on the Akron Tigers and the Albion Purple Eagles on Akron’s course. The Raiders dominated by beating Akron 20-35 and Albion 16-46. Nathanael Hess and Mason Allee-Castro started the scoring with a 1-2 finish and were followed by Alexander White in 4th, Tylor White 6th, Ben Harrod 8th, and Aidan Voss was 9th.
Angelina Delgrolice also finished 9th in the girls race.
Setting personal best times were: Delgrolice, Lillia Peace, Allee-Castro, Lucas DerSarkissian, Wyatt Equils, Harrod, Alexander White, and Tylor White.
The teams travel to Rochester on Saturday to compete in the 54th McQuaid Invitational at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester.
Samson & Class Win All League Meet Races

WATERPORT -- The modified cross country teams had an exciting All League meet at Lakeside State Park on Saturday.
We have 2 league champions! Lydia Samson had an impressive win leading the entire race with teammate Mia Herman on her heels. Samson was undefeated in the league this year. The girls left the fans in awe as they finished 1, 2, 3. Samson and Herman were expected to go 1, 2, and Lucy Ingro ran an inspired race coming to take 3rd. Ariana Peace finished in 11th with a personal best race.
Steven Class had a thrilling finish as he out sprinted an Albion runner to take the championship. The boys were just as impressive as the girls, finishing 1, 5, 6, 7, and 13. The order previously mentioned was filled by: Jaret Black, Nate Hess, Dawson Donovan, and Aidan Voss.
Class, Hess, Jacob Wilson, Lucas Flegal, Ingro and Peace all had personal best performances. Both boys and girls teams were N-O League Champions.
Class Is Top Barker Modified Runner At Clarence Fall Classic

AKRON -- The Modified Cross Country teams traveled to Akron Falls Park on Saturday to compete in the Clarence Fall Classic. Both teams performed well as the girls finished 4th and the boys took 5th. Lydia Samson and Mia Herman were top 10 finishers in 9th and 10th respectively. Lucy Ingro also had a top 50 finish at 28th of 120 runners.
Steven Class, Nate Hess, Jaret Black and Aidan Voss were all top 50 finishers: 18th, 27th, 35th and 50th, respectively out of 136 runners.
Clint Grissett was the lone Barker runner with a personal best time.
Black Crosses Line Ahead Of All Runners

BARKER -- The Modified Cross Country teams remained unbeaten as they hosted Roy-Hart on Tuesday. The boys came away with a 16-47 victory while the girls had a perfect score of 15-50 by taking places 1-5. Both teams are 6-0. Lydia Samson was once again the leader, but with Mia Herman pushed her the whole way, finishing just 3 seconds behind. Lucy Ingro was 3rd, Alyssa Thompson was 4th and Ariana Peace was 5th.
The boys were close to a perfect score by having the top 4 finishers: Jaret Black, Steven Class, Nate Hess, and Dawson Donovan in that order. Aidan Voss was 6th, Xander DerSarkissian 7th, Levi Hauser 8th and JP Mason was 9th. Hauser, Voss, Mason and Clint Grisset all had personal best times.
Samson Is Front Runner At Albion

ALBION -- The Modified Cross Country teams came away with 2 victories each yesterday as they took on Albion and Akron in a Niagara-Orleans League tri-meet. The girls had an impressive win taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Lydia Samson was Barker's front runner taking 1st with Mia Herman in 2nd and Lucy Ingro in 3rd. Alyssa Thompson finished in 8th, Emma McGrath 10th, Meadow Nye 11th and Ariana Peace was 14th. Barker defeated Albion 24-31 and defeated Akron 15-50. The girls are now 4-0 in the league.
The boys also had a good race finishing 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 9th. Jaret Black led the way for Barker with Steven Class finishing 1 second behind him. Nate Hess, Dawson Donovan, and Xander DerSarkissian rounded out Barker's top 5. JP Mason and Levi Hauser were Barker's 6th and 7th man finishing in 11th and 12th places. The modified boys defeated Albion 22-37 and Akron 18-43. The boys are now also 4-0 in the league. Mason, Jacob Wilson, and Clint Grissett all had personal best performances.

BARKER -- On Tuesday the Barker Modified Cross Country teams both improved to 2-0 on the season as they took on Newfane at home. The girls defeated won 20-39 and the boys won with a score of 21-40. Lydia Samson and Mia Herman again led the girls with a 1, 2 finish. Lucy Ingro finished 4th, Alyssa Thompson was 5th. Meadow Nye, Emma McGrath and Ariana Peace all finished within 7 seconds of each other in 8th, 9th, and 10th places.
Dawson Donovan was Barker's first finisher placing 2nd, and with identical times were Nate Hess and Jaret Black finishing 3rd and 4th. Steven Class followed in 5th. Xander DerSarkissian was Barker's 5th man finishing in 7th place. Aidan Voss was 8th, Jacob Cirillo 9th, Camren Szafranski 10th, JP Mason 12th, Levi Hauser 13th, Donovan Recore 14th, Jacob Wilson 15th, Clint Grissett 21st and Lucas Flegal finished in 23rd.
Hess and Wilson were the 2 Barker runners with personal best times.
Four Modified Runners Claim Top Ribbons At McQuaid Invitational

ROCHESTER -- The Boys and Girls Modified Cross Country teams had a great showing at the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday. The teams ran a 1.62 mile course. The girls placed 12th of 29 teams and had 324 runners in the race. Lydia Samson led the team with a 37th place finish. Mia Herman finishing 53rd. Both girls received Top Ribbons for their fantastic finishes. Lucy Ingro finished 126th, Alyssa Thompson 157th, and Ariana Peace was 233rd.
The boys team finished 11th of 38 teams and had 439 runners the boys race. Jaret Black was Barker's top finisher coming crossing the finish line in 77th place. Nate Hess was just behind in 84th place. Both runners received Top Ribbons for their great finishes. Steven Class finished 107th, Jacob Cirillo 114th, and Dawson Donovan was 131st.
Thompson, Peace, Jacob Wilson, Clint Grissett, and Tim Dent all had personal best performances.
Modified Boys & Modified Girls Teams 1-0 To Start Season

WILSON -- The Modified Cross Country team started their league competition on Tuesday at Tuscarora State Park in Wilson. Both the girls and boys teams came out victorious with the girls winning 15-50 and the boys winning 16-41.
Lydia Samson, Mia Herman and Lucy Ingro took 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, with Alyssa Thompson in 5th and Ariana Peace taking 6th.
The boys were not to be outdone with Jaret Black, Jacob Cirillo, Steven Class, and Dawson Donovan taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively. Nate Hess was not far behind in 6th. Xander DerSarkissian and Aidan Voss completed the top 7 by crossing the finish line in 10th and 11th.
Cirillo, Hess, Levi Hauser, JP Mason, Thompson, Jacob Wilson and Clint Grissett all earned a personal best time.
Herman Cracks Top 10 At East Aurora

EAST AURORA -- The Modified Cross Country team traveled to East Aurora on Saturday to compete with several schools. The boys and girls ran well with the boys team finishing 4th out of 8 schools.
Mia Herman had an impressive start to her career with a top 10 finish. Herman finished 8th of 65 runners. Lydia Samson also was impressive finishing 11th, Lucy Ingro was strong finishing 25th. Ariana Peace displayed a great finish coming in 55th. Herman, Samson and Ingro all earned a personal best pace.
Jaret Black, Steven Class, Dawson Donovan and Jacob Cirillo were Barker's top 4 with tremendous finishes placing 12th, 20th, 22nd and 27th out of 96 runners. All four earned a personal best pace. Also having good races and earning a personal best pace were Aidan Voss, 52nd; Nate Hess, 58th; JP Mason, Levi Hauser, Donovan Recore, Lucas Flegal, and Clint Grissett.
The team travels to Wilson on Tuesday to start the Niagara-Orleans League competition.
Jaret Black led all runners finishing 1st overall in a time of 11:42 over the 1.62 mile course. Tyler Hillman finished 2nd in a time of 11:48 and Steven Class finished 3rd with a time of 12:00. Not far behind them was Camren Szafranski in a time of 12:04 to finish 5th overall. Jarrett Baker and Xander DerSarkissian finished 6th and 7th, respectively. Thomas Jowdy rounded out Barker’s top 7 finishing in 9th place. The boys defeated Wilson 17-45. The boys have 5 league wins and 1 loss. Class, Szafranski, Jowdy, Nye, Peace and Dwyer all had personal best times.
Modified Boys Cross Country Splits With Roy-Hart & Newfane

ROYALTON -- The Modified Cross Country team continued their league meets on Tuesday competing against Roy-Hart and Newfane. The boys downed Roy-Hart by a score of 26-33, but lost to Newfane 15-43. Their league record is now 3-1. Jaret Black was the leading Raider coming in 8th place with Miles Clarke right on his heels finishing in 9th place. Tyler Hillman and Steven Class were right behind them coming in 11th and 12th places. Jarrett Baker, Xander DerSarkissian, and Camren Szafranski finished in 14th, 15th, and 16th places to round out the top 7.
The girls also split losing to Newfane but defeating Roy-Hart. The girls are now 1-3 in the league.
Clarke, Thomas Jowdy, Ryan Stevener, Meadow Nye, and Larcey Dwyer all ran a personal best pace.
Deak Places 2nd At McQuaid

ROCHESTER -- The Modified Cross Country team traveled to Genesee Valley Park in Rochester on Saturday to run in the famous McQuaid Invitational. Jaret Black led the Raiders covering the 1.62 mile course in 10:55 seconds placing 117th place out of 446 runners. Aaron Deak was the second Barker Raider finishing in 127th place. Tyler Hillman was the next Raider coming in 217th followed by Jarrett Baker in 227th place. Xander DerSarkissian was 272nd, Camren Szafranski 275th, and Miles Clarke rounded out Barker's top 7 finishing in 286th place. The boys team finished in 30th place out of 58 teams.
For the Girls, Emma McGrath led the Lady Raiders finishing in 174th place out of 320 runners. Ariana Peace and Meadow Nye placed 266th and 268th. All the girls ran well setting personal best paces over their longest race so far.
McGrath, Peace, Nye, Jarrett Baker, Szafranski, Ryan Stevener, Clarke, and Donovan Recore also set personal best paces.
Peace Runs Well Against Akron & Albion

BARKER -- The Modified Boys' Cross Country competed last night at home in their league opener. The boys started the league competition with 2 wins over visiting Akron and Albion. The Raiders defeated Akron 15-50 and defeated Albion 21-40. The boys are off to a great start. Aaron Deak led the Raiders finishing 2nd overall with a time of 8:37 for the 1.35 mile course and a personal best. Jaret Black was close behind finishing 3rd in a time of 8:41. Tyler Hillman finished 4th, Steven Class 5th, Xander DerSarkissian 7th, Jarrett Baker 8th, Camren Szafranski 9th, Ryan Stevener 10th, Miles Clarke 12th, Thomas Jowdy 13th and Donovan Recore 16th.
The Modified Girls also ran well. Emma McGrath was Barker's first finisher coming in 10th place overall. Ariana Peace finished 12th and Larcey Dwyer finished 17th. The girls came away with 2 losses. Deak, Black, Class, Stevener, Jowdy, Peace and Dwyer all had personal bests.
Black Leads Way For Modified Boys Cross Country

EAST AURORA -- The Boys' Modified Cross Country team started their season and running careers this past Saturday at the East Aurora Invitational. Jaret Black led the team with a 24th place finish with Tyler Hillman, Xander DerSarkissian, Steven Class, Aaron Deak, Camren Szafranski, and Jarrett Baker rounding out the teams' top 7 and finishing in the top 100. Miles Clarke, Ryan Stevener, Thomas Jowdy, and Donovan Recore all also ran well.
Emma McGrath and Ariana Peace also had their running debut for the girls cross country team and running well over the 1.5 mile course.
The runners are off to a great season.
